I actually think rocking it back and forth with his foot until it falls over, like DeNiro in Taxi Driver, is more his style….

I used to think this way, then a friend of mine who is smarter than I am, told me that I'm ignoring the fact that the movie goes out of its way to show the circumstances that would allow someone like Bane to take over (i.e. the gap between the rich and the poor). Nolan was saying there are things that definitely need

That's weird, I think The Prestige is still Nolan's best movie. And I like all of his movies. It's the only one where I get the feeling that the characters are dealing with real, complex, emotional and psychological issues. Nolan shoots for this in every movie, but mostly the character's motivations can be linked back

Some of the most liberal people I know are Catholics and statistic routinely show that Catholics split down the middle politically (half lean left, half lean right). It baffles me as to why they—the highly

Because "Objectivism" is an imaginary idea. The closes we can get is the scientific practices. And even in most cases those aren't objective because the fact that something is simply observed changes the "objective" circumstances under which it would normally function. Also, while various data may be objective, the

Yeah, I was taken completely off guard by "The Internet's" reaction to Hardy's Bane. I actually wasn't a real big fan of Nolan's Bat-series (I liked the first two, but didn't quite understand the rabid fanaticism they seemed to elicit from people), and Bane single-handedly changed that. Bane was like a horror movie

Yeah, that was kind of odd. I mean, yeah, DMX had a "schtick" that got increasingly tired as his albums became increasingly un-listenable, but, for one, it turned out it wasn't really a schtick, that was really DMX, and, for two, he still made "It's Dark and Hell is Hot" which is a borderline classic hip-hop album.

Be careful. All the atheists are gonna get mad at you….

I too just watched it last night, coincidentally. I thought there was a great movie hiding somewhere behind LaBeef's cartoonish accent and the stupid girl who was attracted to him even though he's a buffoon, a fucking moron, and a fuck-up who was single-handedly responsible for like 3/4s of all the terrible shit that

I like Suburgatory more than most, I assume. I've never watched an episode and felt disappointed or underwhelmed. Everything works for me.
