Costco sells these awesome plastic crates for $7 each that fold down. I keep a few of those in the back of my SUV for groceries, as well as jugs of wiper fluid, rags, etc. Great when they aren’t in use and fold down to about 3 inches thick.

I thought I was bringing “extra” documentation just to be on the safe side, but sure enough they needed everything. I had my passport, my SS card (when was the last time you needed that?!), my current license, an electric bill, a property tax bill, and I think a copy of my homeowners insurance. Thankfully mine renewed

Giardiniera is life. My (now) wife never put giardiniera on pasta before and her life is now changed forever. Giardiniera and italian beef on a pizza - well, that’s a whole other dimension.

It’s unclear if this would be considered taxable to the students. But, if the average tuition/room+board is $48,500/year, let’s figure about $200K in student loans for some of those students. If this guy pays off their loans in one payment, they’ll be adding $200K of income to their tax return for the year. That’s

I considered this too, so I drilled two small holes about an inch up from the bottom (it’s an older, white plastic can). This definitely helps a lot.

Agreed. Now, if the employee gave 60 days’ notice, I think the employer should still pay them those remaining 60 days. The employee gave professional courtesy, and that should be reciprocated.

More tipping gray area. I do tip these folks, but the fact that we have to actually question whether not to tip and write articles about it is ridiculous. I look forward to the day that pricing for restaurants and commonly-tipped services is adjusted to not require tipping anymore.

$20 bucks says nobody tips their mail

This week it’s yogurt cups. Last week it was glass jars and lids. Too many friggin rules. How the heck are people supposed to keep track of all of this? There has to be a better way.

One lump sum later would not be more beneficial than adding more money to each payment throughout the year. When you add money to each payment and have it applied to the principal, you’re reducing the amount that is subject to future interest. Saving it for a year separately (while earning next to nothing in a savings

I do this often. As a newer dad myself and learning more every day, parenting can be challenging. I recently saw a dad on a plane with two little kids. They were quite the handful (in a fun way) and told him he was doing great flying solo (pun intended).

A very simple, inexpensive option was overlooked: Resistance bands. They take up very little space, and you can do a variety of exercises at home or in an office, especially if you have a doorway to use as an anchor.

Hollowburrito - great question. I suggest finding a local financial planner to walk you through the ins and outs of IRAs and basics of investing. A bank account in the current environment will accrue almost no interest at all, and won’t bode well for long-term savings. Even taking moderate risk with investing can

Forget about my glass. I just want to be invited to a party with Mick Jagger and Snoopy.

I’d study MORE. I was surrounded by tons of knowledge and didn’t take advantage of it as much as I should have. But, the internet was still in its infancy then, still needed to go to a library for project/paper research, and we weren’t nearly as connected as we are today. Looking back, I had so much damn free time and

I’m trying to. Not because Amazon is massive, but more because I’m trying to support local business/economy instead. The other day, I bought a book for someone at a small bookshop, retail price was $32, and I could have gotten the same on Amazon for about $19. I can afford the extra $12 to support my local economy. If

Yet another reason why tipping needs to go away. It’s ALL gray areas and what-ifs.

No, I’m not a cheapskate, and always tip 15-20%. I look forward to the day that tipping disappears and I’ll gladly pay more for that.

Did the move the damn volume indicator yet? Still driving me crazy.

I own one SlideBelt (from that brand), and two from another popular brand on Amazon. The SlideBelt was more expensive and feels cheap, plus the buckle rattles a bit. Skip this brand go with another.

It’s still awful and I have to bounce around to actually find new episodes. Thanks for the recs on alternatives!

I wish I had the time to take enough naps to necessitate a shortcut for this! But I like your thinking.
