Yeah, it was a bit of a debate, but those games are two of my wife’s favorites. We kind of justified it as a joint Valentine’s present. Plus, having Tag Climax mode actually be local play is exciting. It will hurt to start from the base, though. None of my health or magic upgrades and just Love is Blue...

I played a lot around launch when everybody sucked enough to learn to hang back and avoid the corners but what will always happen is I will get a perfect opportunity to shoot on goal and line my car up wrong or something and just knock the ball way the hell up in the air... then spam the Sorry! emote over and over.

Also I’d like to blame the auto-steering for my poor performance in our February 2018 Mario Kart 8 on the 8th. I forgot to check if it was on or off, so I don’t actually know if that was it, but it did feel like I was consistently not quite turning as crisply as I’m used to. Of course, I had also picked a character

I actually haven’t played it in a while, and I don’t think the online community is especially vibrant. Still, on the times I pick it up I’ve never waited too long for a match. I’d recommend it more for couch multiplayer than online multiplayer, all things considered.

As for what I’m playing this weekend, I’ll be hosting a game night tonight with some friends. We’re probably going to play Ticket to Ride, Codenames, Super Bomberman R, and maybe Overcooked or Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.

One of my first games when I finally knuckle down and buy a Switch will be Rocket League, a game I’ve already established with my nephews that I’m not exactly good at playing, but still want to love. Maybe we can team up via the Discord* and eke out a one-point victory against some random 8-year-olds!

I feel a little guilty this weekend, because as much as I want to help out with Splatfest in Splatoon 2, I’ll be awfully busy all weekend playing Nintendogs But For Real and, Like, Probably for Fourteen Years or So. I’ve heard a lot of about this game over the years, but I’ve never actually played it myself. Sure,

Still mostly taking it sleazy with a casual replay of Super Mario 3D world. I made it to the Special levels and they still don’t really excite me that much. Also in the past week I booted up Rocket League to find out I’m still terrible, Fortnite to find out I’m somehow worse now and Wheels of Aurelia to find out it’s

Gee, it’s Friday already? I guess I’ll be playing more Celeste in my quest for completion. There’s also a Splatfest (Team Love, of course), and my copy of Bayonetta 2 should arrive, so maybe I’ll do a replay.

You may already know this but if you fight Ganon without completing the Divine Beasts, you have to fight any remaining Ganon Blights first and he doesn’t get hit by that big beam of light, which means he has 50% more health.

Woke up yesterday with a bad case of Sprint Vector arms. What is Sprint Vector, you ask? A racing game that came out this week on PSVR that I’m finding highly entertaining. Basically, you race on rollerblades as if you’re pushing yourself on invisible ski poles. You hug corners by planting an invisible pole and

The Fall is even on Wii U, and I enjoyed what I was able to play of it. Funny this comes up, as I was just comparing it this week to the idea of an Autopilot Tesla pulling up to an emergency room entrance and honking the horn because the driver was unconscious inside...

I’ve spoken at length about BotW but the good thing about the Ubisoft Towers in it is that they just show you the map, not fifteen-hundred icons.

Salutations~!

Two-parter this week. Don’t all cheer at once.

So, uh, yeah; Prey’s really good, isn’t it? To be honest, I haven’t played it since this weekend, and I’ve only just made it back into hearing the full message from my Morgan (and by extension, no psychic powers so far). The sound is especially great, and I love its world building - even if it’s nuts that its version

Invincible Tanooki is a great way to lend the player a hand if they want it. It’s there if you need it. It can be ignored if you don’t.

First things first: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the 8th returns next Thursday night! We’re trying a concentrated single hour, so show up on time (8PM Central) and join us for two wheel-only hijinx!

The release of a new Kentucky Route Zero interlude is always cause for celebration. This game has never left my personal Top Five since I played the first part quite a few years ago, and I have no doubt that this interlude and Chapter 5 will maintain the quality of previous entries. Can’t wait to re-purchase it on

I have joined the current console generation! I now own a Playstation 4!
