That’s exactly why I used the term “Pops”. Those are more casual experiences, and I need to learn that it’s OK.

It’s been a long time waiting as it creeps ever closer. I should warn you that apparently tee shirts and jeans and clapping are all encouraged. Very much “classical comes to you” instead of “Here is a Classical.” And apparently the tour is taking at least a year off after this season, so I’m glad they came close…
I’m probably going to pick up Samus Returns at some point down the line, especially since I gave the original Metroid II a pass way back when so it’s a completely new game for me.
Yeah, well said. Definitely interesting to view the Poochy-fication on display here and what a marketing/corporate entity feels is needed to appeal to that era’s idea of cool, and to imagine how they’d HYPER-stylize that approach today.
I’ve never felt time disappear as much as I did with Breath of the Wild. The first night I had it, I finally had that experience I’ve heard others recount where I thought it had been an hour or so, and it had been four.
I tried to rope my wife in for co-op racing, but she was busy doing crafts. Womp womp! Maybe in December (as that’s the next time I’ll get to attend).
Baby Park with all bob-ombs was just as good as Baby Park with all bananas, and maybe better. I was howling with laughter the whole time!
I really wonder what this is about. I don’t even encounter it on other sites in the Gizmodo network. Very, very strange, and kind of hard to even describe to tech support.
I wish you could pick out tracks a la carte! I think it was MK7 that allowed you to build your own Cup and share it via StreetPass. It would be fun to do something like that with Tournaments.
Agreed! Also in that vein- Kid Chameleon:
Breath of the Wild is not a game that can be played in 15-minute segments. You need time to settle into the environment, because the game is so heavily dependent on your own sitational awareness and mental map. It’s almost a creative process, honestly - finding your way requires assessment and thought, rather than…
So, I got impatient and posted my WAYPTW on my blog site here:
I had company so I was unfortunately unable to attend, but I’m back in the saddle again. Also next MK8o8 I’ll be seeing SYMPHONY OF THE GODDESSES, so it will be some time before I’m back on the WiiU nights, unfortunately.
I’ve queued up a night of high speed fun in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Monday, September 18th. Get on your bikes (only!) and ride at 9 Central/6 Pacific! The code to join is 5136-1758-3659.
The Fire Emblem Heroes gods are merciful. After a long summer of striking out with the Summer heroes, I was able to snag every…
Yeah - I don’t know what changed on Kinja/AV Club, but I can finally use the comment section correctly (I say finally, but I guess the change did only happen a couple weeks ago i.e. a decade in internet time).
The Bob-ombs did spread out the fields, and the lack of strong forward attacking meant getting to the lead early was paramount.
I had a wonderful networking issue in Splatoon 2 last night. At the very beginning of a Tower Control match in Moray Towers, two members of each team dropped out (like, as we appeared at the start).
To varying degrees, I shall play Mario + Rabbids, ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Project Octopath Traveller Demo.
This is the first WAYPTW on Nu-AV Club where the layout is not entirely disastrous on my Firefox browser, so someone at Kinja, AV Club, or Firefox worked some wizardry and I’m eternally grateful - with the new and working layout, I can actually browse to Gameological and see comments. Woohoo!
Still grinding away at the Platinum in NieR: Automata. I’ve wrapped up almost all of the sidequests in routes A and B, just a few seem to be eluding my grasp (that titan keeps telling me he needs more time before sending me on his third errand run). I wrapped up the Emil’s Memories/Lunar Tear quest this morning, which…
