One morning I woke up to three of these in my bedroom. They are Horntail wasps and are absolutely huge! Luckily my wife was there to kill them (I know I’m very brave).

I believe the Carrera GT and the LFA are the best sounding cars of all time.

I wonder if he has a tanning bed in the back.

I just went through GTI, Golf R, A3/S3, WRX, M235i Xdrive, Mini Clubman S comparison shopping. I ended up with a 6-speed, AWD, Mini Clubman S. It’s not quite as fast as some of the other options, but it handles extremely well, stands out a bit, has a 6-speed, and has the nicest interior of the group.

There is apparently one type of driver for Mustangs, M3's, and Lamborghinis.

Makes me appreciate why Porsche charges $5000 for leather wrapped AC vents. The craftmanship on the leather interior was impressive.

75mph in normal weather can easily do 80 miles. But remember at 80 miles you will be out of battery, so you aren’t leaving any room for error. If I had to regularly drive 80 miles I would not buy an old generation Leaf. I would get the new version with the larger battery.

I have a deposit on a Model 3. If Tesla can deliver it will be a big winner. But still won’t replace our gas powered second car for road trips. If I was single and could only afford one car, even a Model 3 would be tough to justify.

But the superchargers are still only available on major routes. Here in Colorado, in order to drive from my house to my father-in-laws, I would have to drive North along I-70 and hit 2 superchargers instead of the Southern route through the mountains in Colorado. This would make the drive go from a 4.5hr to a 6-7hr

Also, make sure to get a 2013+ SL or SV. Those come with the heat pump which is more efficient. I believe they both come with the heated seats, rear stead, and steer wheel as a standard as well.

The weather I drove in was -10F. If you are able to keep it plugged in at night, then you can warm the car up while still connected to the outlet/charger and that will reduce the battery consumption on your morning drive at least. On the way home is when you will use more juice.

If it drops below 15F the range is going to hit 45 miles. At 30-40 F the range is still pretty decent, maybe 65 miles. My Leaf had heated seats, heated steering wheel, and the heat pump so it was fairly efficient and didn’t require a lot of excess heating until the temp got 15F or colder.

Haven driven an electric car for the past 5 years I’ll add my 2 cents. For most two car house holds an 80-100 mile EV will work as a second car. During my five years of ownership I only had real range issues once and I only charged the car publicly as a necessity twice.

I had a Leaf for 3 years. Range is truly 80 miles in good weather. If you are easy on your speed I did well over 100 miles. But in very cold weather it drops to about 45-50 miles. So it completely depends on your climate.

Thanks for the spell check. I’m an engineer so it’s not a standard function.

Instead Americans will by more “cross-overs” so they can convince themselves that they are cool and didn’t buy a wagon.

991 is the most recent Porsche code for the 911. The go from 911, 964, 993, 996, 996, 991.

I have a 991 C4S (Agate grey like in the picture) and passed a late 60's 911 on my way into work this morning. I felt like I was in a monster truck. Although I was sitting roughly the same height off the ground, it looks and feels huge compared to a vintage 911.

This. Plenty of people buy these hideous cross-over coupes (X6, X4, GLE, GLA, etc). If it allows automakers to make heavy profits and keep developing all of the other sweet cars that having been coming out recently, I’m all for it.
