@JinxyMcDeath: Yeah, you could tell she thought her comebacks were clever. What induces my rage is knowing there are people who will agree with her.

@jumpingpiglet: The challenge is using natural products - not the standard shampoo you'd get at your grocery store, like Suave or Herbal Essences.
@light-itself: True. All in all, it's an odd piece. I'm not in MFA or anything, but I am an English major. I can just imagine how I would get slammed if I wrote a piece of literary criticism like this.
@ericacartman: Cosigned.
@andhowever: I'll agree that the MFA programs are incestuous and flawed. I think there are people with cred and platform to say when something sucks - for instance, the reviewers at the New York Review of Books.
@light-itself: I can see why those issues are illegitimate. They have nothing to do with being a rich white man.
@banannastand: I'm the other side: a geeky girl who looked like a geeky girl. (I'm pretty, but I wear baggy clothes and no make-up. It evens out.)
@restlessbynature: I think the greater issue is that someone made a misspelling in the notice. That's disrespectful to the dead person. (I'm so sorry you're gone, but I couldn't be bothered to proofread the notice.)
Okay, here's my creepiest incident:
@la.donna.pietra: I can just imagine the weird looks I would get if I asked my grandmother when she developed.
@Ipomoea: Eight isn't outside the normal age boundaries. Traveling can affect the body though, so the trip might've accelerated the process.
@rocknrollunicorn: What made it awkward for me were the vampire growls.
@maurasaurus: I'd believe it. They also seem to have a higher ratio of female leads to male leads.
@7andfive: So your friend wouldn't identify as Irish American. (Although being born and raised in Ireland, I would think on some level she considers herself Irish.) But would she identify as African American, since she was born and raised in Ireland? That's what people would label her.
@TopLevelExecutive: I love that it shows off her amazing hair, however.
@freestylewalker: I was watching Disney and Nick recently with baby-sitting charges. It made me happy that kids are growing up with more diverse casts - hopefully they'll demand it in their teen and adult shows even more loudly than our generation.
@CurtCole: So much fabulosity to be contained by a single cake.
@Rosa - que seria de mi?!: That's how I think of it too. But you can bet any Latino who shows up in the media, born in the US or not, will be identified as Latin American. I don't think that should happen.
@FrankiTheB: Coffee Talks is gonna need y'all to bring Miz Jenkins back: See, that's exactly what I like. "Black American" feels right to you. It allows you to label your own experience.
@Poubelle: I bought a pair on eBay and they fit! It was magic!
