It's kind of funny how white people started complaining how white everything is in about 2011. Like, they didn't realize when they listened to indie radio in 2006 and everything sounded like Rilo Kiley.

Rock is dead. The '00s are why.
One of the differences is the action sequences in the Fast and Furious movies are exciting.
So, your basic. Don't brag about it.
Yup. But it doesn't make you uncommon.
Especially Twitter, which has become the most unpleasant place ever (and sucks for masturbation, too).
He's right to be blamey. Fuck all this "you owe the world an apology" bs regular people demand from celebrities THEY HAVE NEVER EVEN MET.
IT FOLLOWS is the world's longest ever Arcade Fire video as directed by All the Real Girls-era David Gordon Green, and is exactly as precious and self conscious as that sounds.
Eh. They're consenting adults who can make their own choices.
Why are protagonists waking up in the morning "a hack writing move"?
Is FERRIS BUELLER "hack writing"? Is HOUSE PARTY??
He is the guy who wrote U-TURN, which is a work of radicalism compared to the middlebrow stuff he's doing now.
Of course you, a privileged white man, would say that.
Yes. Lady Liberty was born in Kitchener, Ontario.
Valuing "realism" over "fantasy" is a problem in all literary appraisal. This isn't restricted to YA. It's a hierarchy of genre that's been going on for a very long time. If this leads to gender imbalance in authorial respect, and I'm not convinced it does as so much YA fantasy is written by men, then it's due to this…
I have no debate with your last sentence. I just feel the show has a distinct way of pitching its jokes with an energy where they feel funny even when they're not that sharp, but if it's working, I'm not one to argue.
I've watched a few episodes of this now, and really admire its energy, but I've been trying to convince myself its better than it is. I love what the show represents, but it's too silly/stupid (again, the energy usually sells this), and seems to be constantly high-fiving itself.
I only watched the first half of CRAZY STUPID LOVE and was convinced that movie was written by sociopaths. It presents a disturbingly strained imitation of human life.
The grunge-aftermath late '90s were a dismal rock era, and this song exemplifies that well. It's hard to imagine someone really being into this song.
True. As an album, Meat is Murder is entirely about social dehumanization. The title track just extends that metaphor as a finale.
I don't get why you'd level his insecurities and suicide and judging him "not attractive" against his work. I feel David Foster Wallace is an undisputed genius who is only readable 70% of the time. Much of his writing is a battle against himself, so I agree that there's a disconnect between what he professes and what…
