That’s nice. I don’t have much more to say, except perhaps to reiterate that it might be worth reflecting on the fact that most people are interpreting your comments in a way that you find objectionable, and that there’s a common thread, and that the other commenters are not the common thread.

Oh gosh yeah trans folks should stand nobly and simply withstand an all-out assault on our very existence, without resorting to anything so crass as anger in response. Obviously only through perfect poise and obsequiousness can we achieve progress. Bite me.

You won’t see me arguing that a rape threat is okay if the person being threatened sucks. You will see me say that using a threatening message to misgender people and suggest that transgender people are really just a bunch of violent men is a deeply fucked up thing for a woman this famous to say when transgender

It’s weird that you think that those same threats wielded by two different types of people have the same impact and inexcusability, bud.

Rowling has the right to say disagreeable stuff without getting death threats

Short/selective memories over here, I guess.

Also, Obama put kids in cages, we just didn't care until Trump was in office. The cage photos everyone pissed themselves over? Taken under Obama.

Spoiler alert: there never was any help on the horizon for caregivers in America. Nobody cares. We get to soldier on alone, watching our earning potential dwindle (and, in my case, whatever remained of my fertile years).

Right then, Redfield knew it was over. Trump showed in that moment that he hadn’t changed at all. The pandemic response wasn’t going to change, either.

They’re not interested in getting rid of the filibuster. They like having it as a convenient foil so they don’t have to do a damn thing they promised. Medicare for all gets them votes but most of them aren’t actually interested in making it happen and they need a villain as to why they couldn’t do what they promised

I expect someone to come along yo yell you that liberals can’t afford to turn away any potential ally any second.

It always happens. Look at Reagan. Nixon!

The mainstream media is working overtime to make sure of it.

No. Jesus. You’re not getting it. Stewart, as a liberal, is falling for the lab leak conspiracy, ignoring anything he’s learned from the past. Some of us have been burned enough by what our government and media have told us. We are not as ready to accept the propaganda this time around. If you haven’t been paying

SARS which was closely related to covid-19 was traced to bats in Yunnan which is not really that far from Wuhan, about a largish U.S. State away. Wuhan is a largish city, so it some practical sense to have a lab there. If you have bats one place that have a virus, it’s conceivable that bats close by could have a

Cool. It’s like you didn’t read any of the other plausible explanations Ashley cited in the story. I don’t have a hard-on for hating China. You can high-five the other folks in the replies. You’re wasting your time on me.

This is in no way surprising to me. If you don’t think Stewart is born from the same neo-liberal primordial ooze that Maher spawned out of, then you might be from that puddle too.

People want this to be a lab leak because it’s a lot easier to cope with the idea that “if China just had tighter lab security none of this would have happened” than it is to cope with the idea that pandemics are going to pop up every once in a while, and it is painfully obvious that we are totally unprepared in all

Liberals like Stewart are saying the lab leak theory is true. Did you not read the article?

You certainly punched my ticket on that one.  :)
