Not that I’m ever donating to anything associated with the Democratic Party again in my life, but if I were, shit like this would most definitely make me reevaluate that call.

This dude...he gives me the fucking creeps. Some uncanny valley crossbreed between Patrick Bateman and Tracy Flick, wants to be an Obamaesque figure and tries to channel that rhetorical skill and pop cultural appeal but just fundamentally cannot pull it off. What’s weirder and more unnerving than the idea that his…
No, they have the theoretical support of every Dem except Manchin and Sinema. If they weren’t opposed, I’m sure some other “principled moderates” (Warner etc.) would all of a sudden discover their deeply-held concerns over things they claim to support now.
With that majority they passed...a Republican health care plan, with no Republicans voting in favor despite tons of preconcessions. I don’t think times have changed much at all, save for the fact that now Dems’ refusal to move aggressively on voting rights legislation means they’ll never get those kinds of majorities…
...not incorrect!
Fucking stupid/classic that the chud objection to Buttigieg taking parental leave is “haha he’s a man and leave is for women, why would a father possibly need leave?” rather than the fact that in the US, paid parental leave is pathetically insufficient for *all* parents (especially the ones giving birth) and…
Shit like this is why liberatory framing has to be inviolably based in real material analysis; without it that language just becomes cover for the most reactionary bullshit imaginable. These clowns don’t do a very good job with it — big “how do you do, fellow progressives?” vibes here — but plenty do, and they’re…
“I’m more interested in a radical decentralized ubi that I think could potentially be achieved thru crypto and gaming but I haven’t ironed that idea out enough yet to explain it”
Well, we do what we can
Dems are gonna get slaughtered next year huh
As a communist I of course actively hope for (and do what I can to work towards) the destruction of this miserable country but man oh man the last few years constitute about the absolute stupidest way possible for it to really get rolling. Yeesh.
What is this simpering equivocation? The entire point of a “no” vote here is its symbolic power; if you can’t even show basic solidarity with people under apartheid in a moment like this then what good are you?
Hey let’s have some sympathy for her during a difficult time — she couldn’t bring herself to cast even a token vote against an apartheid state and now she’s very sad ;_;
Cool so does that mean my Jewish ancestors cancel out hers and I can say fuck apartheid-state Zionism and fuck her for this stupid, cowardly, performative bullshit?
Massive pet market for our arms sales, regional base to project US dominance over MENA, Evangelical eschatology, and brotherly support for a bastion of European nationalism/settler-colonialism and oppression.
Get comfortable, you’re gonna be waiting a good long while on that one.
I mean yeah they all fucking suck, and she’s no different. Dems are Dems.
She didn’t vote against it so who cares. The entire point of a meaningless “no” vote (this was gonna pass regardless of her specific choice) is its symbolic import. If she can’t even manage that, fuck her.
An impossible purity test like not funding advanced military hardware for apartheid states? Damn, you’re right, that’s a toughie.
Tax the Rich (so we can use their money to fund an apartheid state)
