Just like Karen, I don’t like the dumb brake hold feature. It should allow the driver to turn it off, but for some reason most modern cars don’t.

Sorry for referring to the enthusiast models on a site that’s for enthusiasts. The base model of the cobalt does suck, while the base model of a golf is alright. However, I’d still pick a focus or a neon over it cause a slightly nicer interior is not worth it to deal with all the upkeep of a VW. In the end, they’re…
I will agree that the quality is not the best in compact cars, but it’s not like Japanese and German shitboxes were significantly better than american shitboxes. Not sure what you mean by ergonomics, all shitboxes pretty much have the same level of ergo. And longevity is not much different between them either. All I…
And the popular opinion is always right! Read up on some history on the neon and see if you think it was poorly designed. Just cause eurocucks didn’t like it doesn’t mean it’s a bad car.
1st gen neons are one of the quickest cars in SCCA solo and rally, the cobalt SS is pretty damn quick, holding a few FWD lap records for a few years, and while the new focus and fiesta are Ford Europe products, Ford is still an American brand.
1st gen neons dominate in SCCA solo and rally, the cobalt SS had multiple FWD lap records for a few years, and the focus and fiesta ST are the best bang for your buck in their respective segments these days.
What particular class of cars are you referring to? For example, in the compact segment, there’s been good offerings from the big three throughout the decade: the neon, cobalt SS and focus ST just to name a few.
Everything I hear about Germany sounds like ass. Doesn’t help that I work with arrogant, German asshats. Fuck Germany.
My buddy had one and it was awesome. Any time someone would ask what he drives, he would say “just a supercharged, mid-engined AWD car”, making everyone think it was some sort of high-end performance car. Their faces were priceless when he would show them a picture.
They’re ugly, require drilling holes on the front fascia, typically block part of a grille, affects aero, and creates additional cost to the owner by having to purchase two plates instead of one. Front plates are just an outdated money-grab scheme that provide no benefit.
Challenger SRT.
What does “engineered to the same level” even mean? Is this a quantifiable measure of how much time an engineer spends on designing a part? How many engineers total were part of the program? How much money a company threw at a car? And how does high speed crash performance even relate to “frame cell, engine,…
Interesting, because the same work which would take me a couple of hours to do on an American or Japanese car always takes a few days on a German car.
Unfortunate, but true.
I’ve been living in Japanese and American shitboxes for as long as I can remember. German shitboxes are too expensive.
No, shitty engineering is why German cars suck. Shitty manufacturing is why American cars suck.
I take it you’re one of those who see a vehicle as an appliance, thus manifesting your dislike for driving? I bet you’re really looking forward to having an autonomous car so you can browse buzzfeed while on your way to work.
I could not agree more. My 86 is the perfect size for daily driving and my neon is the perfect “work truck” when I need to haul shelves, baseboard, 2x4's, and anything else I could ever want from Home Depot.
As a legal immigrant, I completely support illegal immigration law enforcement. My mother and I lived in poverty in a 3rd world country, and through hard work, we made it here legally. Any immigrant who comes to this country illegally is a criminal and should be prosecuted as such.
California is also the state with the most amount of debt.
