Nope. There are several differences.
Nope. There are several differences.
My family is rewatching the original series right now. Its the first time for my youngest son. I know its one of my favorite shows of all time but it amazes me watching it again just how great it is.
Because there are people, that thankfully are becoming more and more rare as boomers die off, who absolutely will not watch cartoons because they are “for kids”. These people suck
I don’t watch live action remakes of animation on principle, due to the whole “animation is brainless fluff for small children, in order to be seen as True Art it needs to be remade into live-action” stigma. Some things work better in animation, it all depends on the story you want to tell and how you want to tell it.…
This is something I still don’t understand:
The only reason they exist is an opportunity to make money. It’s not any deeper than that. I’ve seen some people online insist that it’s an opportunity for the story to reach a wider audience, but from the perspective of the people making it, a wider audience just means more $$$.
Can anyone provide an explanation for why live action recreations of existing animated shows or movies exist, other than it’s another opportunity to make more money? I have yet to see one live action version of anything (and that includes the Rebels “sequel” series Ahsoka) that can do anything better than the animated…
Of course, 8 hourlong episodes is already wayyyy too much for an adaptation of 20 22-minute episodes…especially when four of those episodes are Imprisoned, The Waterbending Scroll, The Great Divide, and The Fortuneteller.
Zaslav canned them for tax purposes. He can do that to shows that have nothing to do with Warner Media or Discovery now for some reason.
‘”DiMartino and Konietzko were initially attached to the adaptation, but they pulled out in 2020 citing creative differences. And after 10 awkward, uneven hourlong episodes, it’s easy to guess what their objections were.”’
I mean, making fun of Matt Damon got us “I’m fucking Matt Damon” which might not have been Kimmel’s work, but he at least gets partial credit.
Man Show Reboot? Maybe with Ben Stein jumping on trampolines?
The older they get, him and Colbert get less and less funny and more and more...idk the word, strident. Like yeah, I know, Trump’s bad, I don’t need a lecture from the Man Show guy to tell me so.
Come on leave now ! Santos is suing you so run away now !
Also, while I realize that not everybody who saw it has read the book, it had been around for over 50 years, is one of the most read SF books of all time, and pretty much everybody who had read it guessed that was where they would break.
Let’s all fondlly look back at the many classic Kimmel moments he’s given us:
He never seemed like he gave much of a shit about hosting the show, for better or worse.
Yeah...I’m pretty sure they made it immensely clear this was only half the story; the review goes on:
“Most audience members were surprised by the ending, which set up a continuation of the story.”
