I’m not sure when she was let go. I think it was pretty recent. After xoJane, Elite Daily might have the second worst working environment in digital publishing media. That place is a hot bed of misogyny and dysfunction. It’s all Cool Girls, Nice Guys, and Frat Boys.

I think they’re biggest problem is that they’re in no position to reject anything. The only people willing to write for them now are writers desperate for exposure or a pay check and their sad sack commenters.

They don’t accept any regular pitches. They only respond to people who submit completely written essays and you can tell by all the errors they never even read the whole piece. All three of their editors are there by default because everybody else either quit or got fired.
