I saw this at Paleyfest and this review is about five grades too generous. Mulaney delivers his lines like a second grader with stage fright; Nasim Pedrad's character is incredibly abrasive and unlikable; Token Black Friend is only there to be Token Black Friend; and Martin Short and Elliot Gould are chewing so much

I didn't smile once, let alone laugh, and that's not good news for a so-called comedy. It just thinks it's so fucking charming and it's really not.

Right? I watched Broadchurch and liked it, but I thought it was wildly overpraised and I honestly didn't see what was so special about it. I will say the acting on Broadchurch is better, but I have absolutely no problem with Gracepoint.

Nick is a barely functioning human being at this point and it's really not that funny anymore. Like, they writers have turned him into the type of person who appears to have to pin his address onto his shirt before leaving the house and it's really hard to take any of the characters seriously anymore when they keep

God, the dialogue on this show already seems so dated. This is going to make a great case study in some media college class 20 years from now.

Nah, I don't think scheduling's the problem, New Girl has been going downhill creatively since the end of S2.

I'm always bewildered when people say they don't like Gina because literally every single thing that comes out of Chelsea Peretti's mouth is absolutely hilarious to me.

"You look amazing…but you smell really bad."

Gina's naked mole rat sweater was a sight to behold.

Fox as a whole is tanking pretty hard. Apart from Gotham, I doubt any of their shows are going to hit a 2.0 in the demo by the end of the season. Pretty sure some of them like Mindy and New Girl will even end up going sub 1.0.

What cracked me up was that there was absolutely no irony in that line reading. Like Jake really, genuinely thinks he composed The Skeleton Dance.

Even just one season in, I think Amy's far more well-realized as a character than Pam ever was though. Especially in the first few seasons, Pam was defined solely by Jim which is why the writers didn't know what to do with her for a long time after they got together. Amy's more sharply drawn and contributes far more

Eh, I don't think he's anything like Tom. They're both goofy and silly but there's a degree of self-awareness to Jake that indicates he knows he's being an immature dick but he's doing it because it's fun and he likes annoying people. Tom's pretty clueless most of the time.
