Alternate take: literally everything about the cruise industry from the rampant disease to the unreported sexual assaults to the terrible treatment of workers is completely awful and the world would we way better off without it.

Here is a productive idea: Lets give a free cruise to all the people believing that corona is a hoax and that are “peacefully” demonstrating against the shutdown with bazookas and rifles. If they survive, maybe they will have learned something.

There is a slight but crucial difference between going to your local grocery store to buy food, a necessary activity during a global pandemic, and deciding to get on a cruise ship and go float on the ocean in a giant petri dish with a bunch of high risk older people for funsies.

One of my sisters, who I know has been socially distant and working from home, still plans to go on a cruise next year.Why anyone would get on a cruise ship at any time is beyond me. 

Oh my. She’s a republican isn’t she? She sounds like a republican. How disappointing.  I thought I loved me some Sandy, but Capt Lee wouldn’t say this shit.  

So I say be smart, use your brain and do some deductive reasoning and then take precautions. But live.

Maybe just be more honest and stop with this looking-down at reddit already? you are not the only “highbrow” writer guilty of this, if that’s any consolation
