The problem is you're not really listening. All of her music, esp. this album, isn't depressing at all. Her last album was. Perhaps you felt it was medicore because you lack emotional connection OR because you've never been in love and been betrayed or hurt as a result.

I'm curious to see how many people will actually get the wit in your comment.

You might want to reconsider. I, too, found "hello" uninspiring. I bought the album today anyways to support a great artist. There are some real gems on here. I'm not sure if they'll ever be 'radio released' hits either so you might miss out. (One music snob to another..lol)
