So your assertion that the book has literally nothing to do with Pence’s sordid policies is literally incorrect.

Most Pence supporters were probably going to buy the original, but most liberal leaning media viewers will probably buy Oliver’s; there is no real overlap. I am positive that the whole ordeal has raised the profile of the original book, and they’ve likely sold more copies (which means more money for charity).

It’s hard to imagine that the sales of the gag book are eating much into the sales of Charlotte’s book. I can’t think that very many people were going to buy the latter, but then found out about the former and chose it instead.

Pence’s book will sell millions more copies as a result of this.

They’re both for charity.
