I wish I could find that TV Funhouse “Fun with Real Audio” segment where Bjork is performing at the Oscars and her swan dress comes to life and starts regurgitating food into her mouth before attacking the audience and being put down by Charlton Heston.

That was some quality SNL animation.

You’re projecting harder than the vomit in the Exorcism.

Stop it just STOP it you two!

Sean Astin is perfectly cast, both because of his 80s associations & how it is totally obvious to everyone, even to him, that Winona Ryder should not be with him (but it makes sense that she is, since she is desperately trying to create normalcy for her family & herself).

I had no idea Sean Astin would end up looking and sounding almost exactly like Patton Oswalt.

I like to imagine Dan Aykroyd watching Stranger Things and picture him pointing at the tv and yelling “You see! Today’s kids DO still love ghostbusters! It never went out of style! We can still make more ghostbusters!!!” and then he starts wildly rewriting his long lost Ghostbusters 3 screenplay while making futile

Same! As a 90s baby I always love discovering older music through new pop culture.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting that Toback’s offers of “movie roles” were genuine, so he’s basically denying doing something nobody is suggesting he did (offering people actual roles in movies) while not denying the thing that people are accusing him of (raping women.)

I don’t know guys, he’s got me convinced.

In his statement, he says the Weinsteins had right to first refusal on his movies. I’m sure that was a contract, not a friendly gesture.

This show just nails the eighties decade. Coupled with the wonderful performances and cinematography, this season premiere delivered on all fronts. Glad ST is back as the reigning king of Netflix.

I thought Janet’s attempt at making a human had gone horribly wrong and she created a person with no face, whose head was just a sphere covered in hair but could somehow talk... because I’m dumb and didn’t realize he was just facing the wrong way.

I didn’t recognize him until he turned around, I think in part because I have this mental image of him being super-tall and he isn’t.

I listen to Mantzoukas’s podcast How Did This Get Made as well as Comedy Bang Bang (you should too) and I am so glad he didn’t plug this role in either. When I saw the back of his head, I was almost sure it was Zouks, but I was still so happy to be proven right. A great show just got even better.

That was over 10 years ago so it technically counts as throwback. We’re only three years away from the “2000's” nostalgia wave bullshit

It’s a GJI article. We used to shit on those CONSTANTLY before the great merger. I don’t think things at the AV Club are great, but GJI was always fluff.

I’ll occasionally order something online late at night drunk and completely forget it until I get it in the mail several days later.

It doesn’t seem that way. Season 1 ended with enough teasers to imply they intended to pick the story up again in season 2.

Your absence is just another thing to miss about the old AV Club.

As much as the anthology series thing made sense, I do think it was always written to be an ongoing series. The creators have talked at length about the massive series bible (I think something like 100 pages) they wrote out before the first season, and there is a lot of things that happen at the end of the first
