In Search Of... is one my favorite albums from the 2000's and the two singles from N.E.R.D.’s new album have me really excited for it. I’m also really excited for Saturation III by Brockhampton, who sort of feel like a spiritual successor to N.E.R.D. (or to Tyler, the Creator, who himself is thier most obvious

I saw a Pitchfork article “Ad-Rock responds to allegations” and my heart sank before I read the rest.

I got the black lung, pa.

My mom watches morning shows, but always stayed away from Today, specifically because she thought Lauer was a creep (and my dad hated him too for the Ann Curry stuff).

Of course these two both love each other. They’re both delightful.

I think there’s a difference between “no jokes are allowed anymore” and “the POTUS just re-tweeted a global white supremacist as a way to incite violence against a religion of over a billion people so maybe this doesn’t deserve snark like it’s ‘just another dumb thing our dumb president is doing’ but is actually

“I didn’t mean to bug ya.”

(After the completion of this rant, Zod’s nurse finally found him under the bridge and forced him to take his meds.)

Get Out Of Your Own Way” is probably my least favorite track on the album, and I didn’t really like “You’re the Best Thing About Me” until I heard it in the context of the album. “The Blackout” is good but has some of the albums cheesiest lyrics, and speaking of cheesy, I like “American Soul” but it is undeniably a

“this is just not good music” I disagree, I would say this album is good rock and roll, uh, music. (But really I do quite like this album. It’s no Unforgettable Fire or JT of course but it’s a solid B imo.)

If you’re listening to that podcast for any deep analysis of the music I can see why it’s appeal would mystify you.

The A.V. Club: Where you’ll ask yourself ‘why do I keep coming back to talk about pop culture with my out-of-touch uncle?’

He’s a pretty good actor in general.

I once saw a production of The King and I that was just a man slowly eating the cast for 2 hours, so I think they should take down those tasteless Bill Brasky sketches.

You were able to find like 10 minorities who won (you missed Stevie Wonder, whose 3 wins probably best helps prove your point) in the face of dozens of white people. And I like the button that they’d “all like a word” like if someone said that minorities need to win more Grammy’s they’d be offended because they won

I’ll say Kendrick wins over Jay-Z. I think the Grammy’s know he’s the hottest in rap right now, and are still trying to live down that time when Macklemore won Best New Artist and Best Rap Album over him.

You must not be on the internet much.

I thought a lot of Ricky Gervais’s put downs weren’t as mean as the media portrayed them. Like, Mel Gibson is presenting and the best thing you can come up with it that he drinks a lot?

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not but I hated Ricky Gervais as host. I remember liking him when he first hosted all those years ago, but I thought Tina and Amy consistently did a better job and that by the time he hosted again last year he was borderline unwatchable.

If he calls out Casey Affleck being there he’ll officially be my new favorite current talk show host (I don’t count John Oliver as a talk show host.)
