Same here. STL cabs are shit and don't treat their drivers well (you make 25-30k/year and have to own and repair your own cab…that's painted yellow thus de facto unusable outside of running a taxis. The fact they wouldn't keep my reservations didn't help and were 2-3x more expensive per trip than Uber didn't help.
I'm curious, do you think full time taxi drivers make a lot of money, rather than the taxi company owners who take a share of the profits from every ride?
Eh, as a loser nobody I'll still choose Uber over taxis any day.

I've only been around for about 4 year after a short period of bemusement towards the high school question I soon realized it was all about race and class.
There was/is a big fight over Uber in St. Louis. A few of my really liberal friends were anti-Uber because they were "skirting" over regulations and hurting the good paying taxi jobs.
