Yep.

Those are obviously bigger issues. They’re also not what the article is about, so I didn’t bring them up. I brought up an example of similar online harassment because that’s the topic covered by the article. I can be concerned about all of the things you mentioned plus this thing.

Is your stance that this isn’t worth

Yes, what happened to Russell in reaction to his TV show is an example of this phenomenon. And, yes, actor/actor. I get it. That is literally true.

That it was your first thought about people not being able to distinguish fake from reality, after the last 4 years the world has gone through, is what is surprising.

To be

I played WoW for 13 years. I left because I felt like they had no interest in keeping me as a customer. Now I play ESO, where I can create and interact with female characters who wear actual armor that would protect them in battle.

The same people who would boo in this audience are the same that rant about people becoming too “woke” regarding how women characters are portrayed in the media. They hold their concept of eroticised D+D cards and fantasy books so closely that they can’t see how 51% of the population might view it.

So, side question. Now the obvious awful behaviour that seems to be the industry standard across the board has been blown open. Which other companies have something like this going on right now that is considered an “open secret” that needs to be massively reported on by media. It is mental that it literally takes a

I was there during this panel in person. It was so unbearable to be in the room during the devs and the audiences responses. I was 21 at the time and knew that it was some bullshit being said. Up until that point I held game devs on a pedestal, thinking they must be great people to have made this great game.

This was

Well, there is Blitzchung, so anything’s possible.

Thank you for your wishes; you often have to take the wins you can, because unlike on TV, the big “Everyone sees justice done” moment doesn’t really come.

Well, I think it’s safe for us all to agree that the hate directed at Schreier is probably extremely misguided. If he had enough stuff, he’d be spilling it asap. His kind of reporting though, requires a lot of time and corroboration. For all his sins, he’s not one of the names like D’Anastasio that I’ve seen thrown

Thank you so much for this post. I'm so sorry you haven't received the justice you deserve.

I understand completely. It’s sad that it requires some specific factors to be news worthy. I don’t agree, but I know that’s the prevailing opinion and they aren’t entirely wrong. They can be right but I can still choose to believe that there is worth in standing apart from the crowd. Obviously, that has ramifications

I have been unfortunate enough to have had to go to court in much the same way, against my own government no less. They forced it all the way, when at any point they could have just paid me what they actually owed me and been done with it. 8 months of turning my life upside down, again. Whilst I was trying to get

Oh, I’ve been trying for years. And I don’t want to distract from, only support those trying to get Justice for their own suffering now by backing them up with sharing how my own experiences that match their own. To say I know they’re brave and likely telling the truth, because I’ve been there too.

It’s usually in the Contract you sign that you’ll go the Arbitration route first; I had to do it when trying to corner Portalarium for supporting my stalkers. There’s two reasons for this.

Agree with all you say, especially about unionization; I’ve worked in the industry too, for E.A./Mythic/Broadsword, and whilst I didn’t see any sexism, there was plenty of bullying and generalised nastines... but the US is also a country where you can be fired for anything, and unemployed support is limited. Lawyers

Thank you for this, it was extremely interesting to read. I really think, besides what you actually went through, that the contents of this message should be an article. About how improbable it is that you will get heard and published, the uphill struggle to get exposure for something you’d probably rather not have to

From the way Jason Schreier tells it, he was building up an article, he just didn’t have the silver bullet yet. With Forced Arbitration etc, it sounds like Blizzard has this situation locked down tightly.

Your ^ post here needs more exposure. It in itself is an eye opener. Though some of the things you’ve experienced may be specific to your particular story, the majority of your comment rings true...unfortunately.

Ok, here’s an essay on what getting the media to deal with these kinds of issues is like from the other side; Long story short, it’s a depressing nightmare.
