Glitter did NOT suck. It is arguably a better movie than A Star Is Born remake, with better songs. The movie flopped because Mariah Carey was over exposed, and the social climate at the time was not tolerant. Yes, 911 & Tommy Mattola’s sabotage were factors, but nobody was in the mood to give the movie or soundtrack a

This article isn’t funny or sarcastic though, it’s literal. Why would you define this as tung in cheeck?

The article has no humor, no snark, no sarcasm. He is displaying terrible writing skills too if this is intended to be tounge-in-cheek.

That’s a good point. I have worked with a lot of people who will spend months fucking up a project, then when they are asked why its late, point to one email where someone was like “out on vacation, be back in a week” as the sole reason the thing was delayed. Like... that might be part of it, sure, but it was not the

What’s sadder?

Oh c’mon, Rich...of all the bullshit targets around 9/11 and you pick this??? This seems extra super petty and worst of all, unnecessary.

Glitter is terrible but I don’t really think comparing it’s bad post-911 box office numbers to music sales is fair- with music there was still radio play and (to much lesser extent) internet uploads the movie didn’t have any of that going for it and it’s pretty notable that the album’s soundtrack had much better

Yes; but also, everything looks simpler fom a distance. Everyone is pure and righteous when dealing hypothetically with generalities; but when people are in a position where they have to deal with specific cases one-by-one, when personal relationships and political considerations and so on come into play, everybody

Who would have thought that we can’t girlboss gatekeep our way out of this?

Theranos started in 2003. Sunny didn’t start working there until 2009. I’d like to know her explanation for defrauding investors prior to his involvement.

Parent in this school system here. This is the same school district where Marjory Stoneman Douglas is—since the shooting there in 2018, all of the schools have armed police (not just the school resource officers they used to have) and this kind of security is pretty typical, especially at the high schools.

Apparently this was day 5 of him pulling this. Security was basically waiting for the predicted tantrum to get physical.

That Nirvana lawsuit is pathetic. Dude has recreated the cover many times as an adult, he has “NEVERMIND” tattooed on his damn chest, and he straight-up says in the complaint that he feels like his family wasn’t properly compensated for the photo, so like, sue for that! Using that type of language to describe that

I’m specifically talking about them calling it “appropriation” which I disagree with. They seem to be saying that pole dance is only for exotic dancers and anything other than that is “appropriation” which is pretty nonsensical, in my opinion. Pole dance isn’t a sacred art form, it isn’t culturally important to any

“Appropriation” of what? Hoe culture?

If you want to fuck up your ankles and get some skinned knees, sure. They aren’t designed to be a street shoe (as discussed in the article).

Some of y’all have never met an old lady who’s had to get rods in her toes to correct damage from years of wearing heels and it shows.

I’m a little shocked - not only that you bought this stuff, but that you’re giving the whole thing so much oxygen. There are people suffering in horrific conditions making this trash, in countries where pollution controls are almost non-existent. The more I think about it the more disgusted I am. What the hell has

shein is notorious for ripping off designers. To give this company one cent is to encourage theft. Fast fashion cannot be supported.

The “dark heart” of fast fashion is the ecological footprint, the near and actual slave labor, the artist theft, and the culture of disposability. Not that some cheap clothes didn’t fit right. Fuck, what a terrible headline.
