Young Frankenstein... great choice.

I want to spend far more time than I have available choosing exactly the correct four movies that define me, but instead I will go with my first hunch and all but one of them are from my youth.

“Define me” is really a bit of a wishy-washy statement to begin with in this context — it’s the sort of thing that sounds impressive and deep and Hey, Check Out This Important Defining List I’m Making, but is actually pretty much meaningless in context since it actually could just mean anything to anyone depending on

The best movies are those that encapsulate America’s glory days of the 1970's that we Russian trolls seek to restore.

Jaws - You’re gonna need a bigger boat

Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory

I was originally going to go with movies that deeply affected my worldview, but honestly, I think my deepest tendency with film is toward silly popcorn fare.

Titanic - Before anyone chimes in with the usual, probably deserved, Titanic criticisms, let me just say, “Oh, stop it, Mother. You’ll give yourself a nosebleed.”

M

2001: A Space Odyssey - I watched this movie for the first time when I was in high school and it upended how I viewed and appreciated art. It was a total mind-fuck, and has informed the type of speculative fiction and entertainment I enjoy some 15 years later.

Sean, we should grab a beer.

If by “define” we’re talking films that had a great impact on me at the time I first saw them, then:

Toy Story, Dark City, Benny + Joon, Real Genius

Dazed & Confused- An anthropology lesson embedded in a stoney hangout comedy, this movie nails what growing up where I grew up, when I grew up felt like and does so with a TNT soundtrack.

Halloween

.... Regular Sized Rudy? Why do they call him that?

I went to a NYC magic store and bought the needle-through-the-arm trick after I saw Anderson do it on SNL. For the price, it seemed like a rip-off when you know the secret. I’ll just say it’s done with stuff you probably have around the house.

He did that trick on SNL and it disturbed me immensely.

There should be an honorable mention for Mimi Kennedy. Her mom character on Dharma & Greg was patient, understanding and unique. I’d list her among the top 25.

I’m still holding out hope for a spin-off called Furguson!

Planned Parenthood and abortion providers are subject to strict regulation (in many states, regulation aimed at deliberately making clinics close). These providers are not. Republicans in Congress have repeatedly attempted to strip all Federal funding from Planned Parenthood programs that are unrelated to abortion and

They make women think they are places to get healthcare or even an abortion, then bait-and-switch them and give them incorrect medical information. So, no, this is not a both sides thing.
