The reason why they love and are so fanatically devoted to Trump is that he gets to be racist without consequences. He’s the embodiment of their fantasies.

Oh, white people are perfectly willing to believe this. Indeed, a good chunk of the white population already knows this. It’s not white people that aren’t listening, it’s racists that aren’t listening. 

They look happy. That’s all that matters when it comes to whom people love, I’d say: that everybody is of age of consent or within a reasonable age bracket (like 16 and 18), and that everybody gets treated right.

Just needed the Harvard stamp of approval.  Us saying the same thing for years, doesn’t count.

There’s a lot of studies that have proven that black people are incarcerated at disproportionate rates to whites but not that many that explicitly spell out why that is the case and certainly not that many which explicitly say “because systemic racism” as this paper does.

It’s not that it’s news, it’s that someone took the time to actually research it and prove it to be true.

Also, its the lazy and shallow mindset of, “racists are bad, I’m not bad, therefore I’m not a racist”.

Nah, but it’s useful ammunition in our many attempts at getting shit done.

I was running earlier this week and “Yorktown” came on (I have it and “Wait for It” on a couple of my workout playlists) and I started smiling and picked up my place. I also said “HERCULES MULLIGAN!” out loud at that part because I love that part.

I get “I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love” stuck in my head at random times.

Look, if you haven’t adopted “it must be nice” or “I’m a general, wheeee!” into your personal lexicon, maybe the problem isn’t with the musical.

Watching this - the first time in months I felt good again.

I sing “Helpless” forty times a day and I was proud of myself when I finally memorized Hamilton’s verses in it.

When I last checked, Ivy League schools don’t graduate students based on AA. Trump cheated on his SAT’s, got 5 deferments to dodge military service and the White House reeks with the stench of corruption.

I just can’t imagine the horror that would be imparted in that job. I want to know how you even get hired for that job.

And I'll ignore that too.

The loved ones of this woman need to come gather her.

One of the smaller consequences of her deception is that the standard of proof for blackness is about to be raised for anyone mixed, lightskinned or white passing. A conversation about colorism and proximity to whiteness is reopening, but unfortunately some of that negative attention is going to fall on ACTUAL black…
