I’ll refrain from textually screaming, since I verbally screamed last night at the fact that Eddie goddamn Murphy walked away empty handed.

I refused to watch because of the When They See Us snub and Queen and Slim snub. How can you decide to not go see a movie. That really pissed me off.

This should have more stars than my own comment.

After looking this kid up (again), I’m even more enraged by his sentence.

Remorse, guilt, empathy, and shame are necessary components of functioning adults in a society. If this fucker’s ‘defense’ is that he’s incapable of feeling remorse, and (obviously) has no intention of fixing that, then he should be removed from society.

Mr Burton is a class act and national treasure.

LeVar Burton is a national fucking treasure. He deserves both a Kennedy Center Honor (now) and the Presidential Medal of Freedom (post-Trump, dreaming, hoping) for his work.

I'm in. I read that quote in his voice.

It’s LeVar. Not “Levar” or “Lavar.”

Levar Burton is a Grade A, stand up guy.
But you don’t have to take my word for it.

We need like eleventy billion more of these and exactly zero more movies where the magical negro makes white people feel good about themselves by forgiving the racist who treated them like shit.

Again, Levar Burton puts his/our people in the best possible light without coonery or apology. Rock on, Kunta/Ron LeFlore/Donald Lang (Dummy)/Geordi/ Mr. Reading Rainbow. They can clown your diction and erudite nature, but never your spirit, intensity or commitment.

Tragic all around. I feel particularly sad for Nick’s brother who, if I’m reading this correctly, is now both an orphan and dealing with the loss of a sibling. This entire family has been weighed down by the heavy cloud of drug abuse, and it’s a damn shame.

That’s a nice headline, because I often to say to myself and others “I will never forgive America for Tamir Rice.”

While this article was well written and thoroughly enjoyed by me...can our New Years Resolution be to leave Stephen A, Kanye, Candace Owens, and Azealia Banks behind in 2020.

so it’s cross-curricular too, the ideal assignment.

It’s also a required part of any thorough English Literature curriculum. Even my lily white private school had The Portable Harlem Renaissance Reader as a required text.

She’s spent her entire career asking to speak to the manager, that’s for damn sure
