Embarrassing my parents in public (showing my ass) was a near-mortal sin, usually followed by comments like “I thought I raised you better...” etc., as well as a fair amount of corporal punishment.

You didn’t ask me, but I’ll chime in anyway. I’m 48, grew up in W.Va., and “showing your ass” while out in public with my parents (especially Dad) was basically the worst offense you could commit. After reading your comment, though, I realize that I haven’t heard it in ages, either.
That is poetic, isn't it? Denise B is the Shakespeare of creative ass kicking phraseology
I think you’re right. I fondly remember my late mother (Who grew up in West Virginia, btw) remarking on many occasions when she saw people behaving in a ridiculous manner, “They really showed their ass right there, didn’t they?” And if the offending party happened to be a child, mom would add, “I’d have something for…
“Slap you critical" is going in my mind palace for future retrieval.
I’m in my mid-fifties and grew up in Southeast Texas. Joined the Navy in ‘90 and now live in Virginia.
I have to ask, how old are you and where are you from? I ask because I'm 48, I grew up in SC, and I've neither seen nor heard anyone use the phrase, "show your ass," in a long time. I'm wondering if the phrase is a regional/generational thing.
What was Nazi Skipper doing trying law school at an HBCU anyway ...?
rule number one as a Black person I do not refer to other Black people as nigger NEVER. Rule Two if you call me one (whether you are Black or White ) I am going to slap you into critical. Expel this trailer park trash and be done with it.
Oh yes indeed, you should be worried sick, in fact there’s a caravan of black fake docs, thousands of ‘em, making their way to your town right now; very bad people, very bad people.
*EYE ROLL*
I’m reminded of the Dave Chapelle standup bit “Bob, who you gonna vote for?” ‘Dave! All these personal questions’ (either you know the bit or you can google it up (probably NSFW, unless you’re wearing headphones))
they’ve already had a Black one with Bill Clinton
You and Tara Dowdell. She talks a lot about the “secret Trump voter” but nobody seems to have a coherent strategy for dealing with those people - because too well we know they will vote against their own interest (DeSantis is an idiot, and I haven’t heard one policy about the environment from him, just racist prattle…
Not a FL resident, but DeSantis just never looked like he was ready to campaign. He certainly doesn’t come across as someone who’s got answers to questions.
I am afraid a lot of these polls in high profile races will suffer from the embarrassment effect. They know it is shameful to vote for racists so they won’t acknowledge it...until the time comes to pull the lever.
“...I’m not saying he’s racist...the racists are saying he’s racist...”
Already put it up on all my social media - I have a car & I’ll drive you to your polling place & back home. 🤓
If he wins Tuesday night, he plans to send that donor a special message:
I live in FL and I’m hearing from my co workers (White and Republican) that they are going to vote for him because Desantis just scares them.
