The fact that a child would be so afraid of the police that he’d run from them at first site and then wet himself when they caught up to him should be a signal to anyone with a sense of decency that the police in this country need to make some fundamental changes to how they operate.

This story is incredibly upsetting for anybody with young black boys in their lives. I can’t stop thinking about the little babies down the street from me and how this could have happened to any of them. It’s so sad.

Oh, so the description is “black kid wearing blue.” That’s literally it. Cops would never stop a random white kid with that thin of a description.

Not to mention the people telling them he’s there kid right? Like ‘You’re looking for a runaway? Well I’m his grandmom.” Ridiculous

The most frustrating, maddening thing about this whole fucked up situation is that this kid clearly thinks he’s going to die. He’s terrified. He wets himself in honest to God fear of the alleged “peace keepers”.

Can’t tell if he’s 10, 12, 14 years old? In all those instances, he’s still a child.

And another person who hates/fears police is created. And then white people will wonder why black people don’t want to trust/respect cops.

I’m not going to watch this because I have boys and I just can’t. There was no need to CUFF him.

This made me almost cry at my desk, and I didn’t even watch the video. This poor little boy. This will forever scar him, and that’s what they want.

If WIC and SNAP didn’t exist, that cashier probably wouldn’t have a job. Both of those programs provide a good portion of the profit for grocery stores. The original food stamp program was created to not only feed the hungry, but to prevent grocery stores and farmers from going bankrupt during the Great Depression.

Carroll seems like a nice person both in her offer to help pay and dignified complain to management and the public about this cashier.
