“improper, failed, and awkward attempts at courtship”

Harper’s lost me as a subscriber with Katie Roiphe, and with John Hockenberry, it’s shown me that I don’t need to miss it anymore.

I made myself finish John Hockenberry’s disgusting article. I am stupefied by his breathtaking cruelty toward his accusers, his galactic self-absorption, his disingenuous reading of #MeToo , and his terrible writing (if he was paid for this piece, that's highway robbery). Harper’s should hide with embarrassment, and

I’ve said it before, and I will keep saying it: predatory sexual behaviour is not something that “happens to” men. It is a choice they make. Jian made a choice to treat women in a way that abused his power. CK made a choice to whip his dick out. Spacey made a choice to assault young boys. Some predators might have a

I would be far more open to the concept of rehabilitation if any of these men actually demonstrated remorse and a new understanding of why their behavior was wrong. Rehabilitation is not going to the Hamptons for six months and buying a new suit.

Is the world so bereft of male talent that these few precious writers, comedians, directors, chefs, politicians, executives, judges, etc., etc., and of course etc. must be “rehabilitated” at all costs? Are their works so important, so poignant, so critical to our understanding of the human condition that to lose them

If men don’t want to get fired for sexually harassing their workplace colleagues they should stop fucking sexually harassing their fucking workplace colleagues. That also goes for Hockenberry’s “awkward attempts at courtship” bullshit. GO ON FUCKING TINDER IF YOU WANT A DATE YOU PRICK. Leave your goddamn dick in your

I read the Hockenberry thing. TL;DR:

“One of my female friends quips that I should get some kind of public recognition as a #MeToo pioneer. There are lots of guys more hated than me now. But I was the guy everyone hated first.”

I’m not sure she ever received alimony. But, even if she did, Charlie Sheen is broke so she’s not getting alimony. He isn’t even paying his child support. And several real housewives are single or got divorced over the course of the show. Although it’s more common on some versions of the show than others.

It’s so easy to see other people as worthwhile, isn’t it? I’ve been borderline suicidal and feeling worthless all year, but I can tell that you’re funny, disarming, smart, and a fighter. I don’t know you, but I admire you.

Hiiiiii love you miss you you’re my fave jezzie.

Sure, sex is great and all, but have you ever taken yourself away for the weekend to the coast and just did whatever the fuck you wanted for 72 hours? That’s what I’m doing, and it’s lovely! Slept in today, went for a walk on the beach, ate ice cream and pizza for dinner, then walked along the beach some more.

The older I get, the more the term hysterical provokes a cold, decidedly unhysterical, fury.

The phrase: “The mother of all meltdowns,” attached to Serena when male tennis players like Andy Roddick and the guy literally famous for his short temper, John Fucking McEnroe really REALLY puts into light how sexist tennis is.

What the umpire did was basically arrest Serena for jaywalking. Illegal sure, but it also comes across as picking on her. And Serena isn’t exactly new to unfair treatment

She should have slapped the shit out of that official, I applaud her restraint.

She’s one of the most unfairly criticized, and mistreated athletes in her profession. What you call “worship” others call balancing the scale to the poor treatment she often receives

I hope someone puts together a highlight reel of all the coaching this guy’s ignored and all the obscenities he’s ignored from male players. The violation for coaching was chickenshit at best, and that game penalty was fucking absurd.
