I’m not taking anything because my mom died relatively young from blood clots that were thought to be brought on by her use of PremPro. It’s such a crap-shoot, isn’t it? At least there’s a cure for erectile dysfunction, right??? /s

The true irony? Mine doesn’t even work. And thank god, because I adopted the world’s most incredible kid.
I’ve been in perimenopause for about a year and it’s included extreme hot flashes, wild anxiety, sudden weight gain and occasional sudden weight loss, three-week long periods followed by three months no periods, and constant crying jags. I’m told this can last for up to ten years. So while menopause might be great,…
Question: Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie regular or double decker?
Jesus! My daughter was adopted from China and I thought I had heard them all. What is wrong with people???
One of my favorite stories is from a friend who adopted kids from South Korea. Someone once asked them, “Do you speak English?” and in unison they said, “No.”
My condolences!
I really think it is. I’ve lived on the west coast and the Deep South and while they both have their “styles,” only the Midwest has adopted the over-permed and/or feathered bangs style as its hairstyle for the continuation of all time. Someone here from Kentucky said it’s still there, too. Could be a “mid” states kind…
Okay, but hairstyles and Steve King aside, Iowa is a truly beautiful state.
That is a classic Midwestern woman’s hairstyle, btw. There are still women around here who have feathered bangs a la 1976.
Thanks! She’s pretty aware and I wanted to do it as part of our Women’s March journey together, so I think I’ll go ahead and do it. ❤
For those of you who have read it, do you think Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye is too much for a 12-year-old girl to read? I was going to read it with her, so would be there to discuss. Thanks!
Kansas is crazy fucked-up, but our judiciary is reasonable. Which is why Gov Brownback has done everything in his power, unsuccessfully, to ruin it.
Kansas State grad here. I’d pay someone a healthy amount of money to see to it that Kansas goes down early.
This is the comment that’s going to make me burst out in inappropriate laughter later today when I remember it.
Julio? Are you really willing to become the thing you hate just to try to one-up someone on the Internet?
BTW, I’ve decided that I’m going to ignore all the childish name-calling and nit-picking and do the work, myself, with respect to getting our issues out there (so to speak) in terms of donating money, showing up to protests and writing and calling my reps. My 12-year-old daughter is doing political activism for her…
I had this same thought while listening to NPR on my way to work this morning. Quit being so damned desperate and making stories out of every hiccup and sigh. Let’s get our shit together and start getting the people who vote against our interests out of office. The name-calling and time for whining or mocking is over.…
John Goodman has been my celebrity crush for 20 years. I would walk right by the so-called hottest men on the planet to spend just ten minutes with him.
No, and this Kansas Jew has already let him know what she thinks of his bullshit.
