Oh man, so many stars for this if I had more than one to give. My mother is a crazy granola customer (I'm so sorry people, I've tried) ... but even she only dislikes frozen bread because it doesn't taste as fresh. I also know a lady who grinds all her own wheat to make her own bread from scratch. Ironically

Anal retentive — red green and blue are not the primaries in subtractive colours — CMY are. Funny though.

I immediately suspected that she did not tell the lady those facts in a polite manner.

My wife has occasionally taken secret shopping gigs, especially while she was on maternity leave and really bored. She was never difficult, always asked the required question like "can I get that without mayo" and then left. The McDonald's nearest me probably has the worst reputation for getting orders wrong — they

Most of those don't seem all that useful. I write Python code every day and have no need for over half of those ... str(value) vs value.decode() vs unicode(value) is useful, and knowing to use commas even in single-item lists is too. The help() command should be near the top alongside "import ... as ..." which is

People are idiots and don't seem to understand that most art is created on loans. Authors who are famous enough receive advances on promised literature but most of them make not a dime while they hope their book will eventually sell and cover the expenses they incurred writing it. The same goes for music and most

That's what I said. Why reply?

It's yet another example of video game console warfare having a negative effect on the people who actually play games. Forum soldiers and fanboys might enjoy this sort of exclusivity nonsense, and it might help Sony's bottom line, but for Xbox owners who have been playing and enjoying Destiny, this is really shitty.

Everyone who writes such things seems woefully ignorant of what kickstarter is. You're not investing in a company, you're purchasing a product in advance to help them get the advance they need. Its like an advance in the music or book publishing world; they need the $2M now to make the game, then all those copies

So tired of GamerGate we wrote another story about it. Stop already.

All-time favourite is still E

Try playing a shooter or driving game at 480p where objects near the horizon are only 10 pixels tall. Now try at 720p where they're a good 15-17 pixels tall. Now at 1080p you've got that many more pixels for detail.

It depends on the game style. For fighting games and games with a lot of rapid movement I'd rather see 60fps than 1080p, because the added motion smoothness matters. For an RPG or shooter (in general), I'd rather have the 1080p resolution for detail.

I disagree (and with the Harry Potter comment as well), if you're going to make a game with the title of a famous storyline, you should make sure it aligns with canon (otherwise, say so from the outset). If I purchase a Lord of the Rings game, and the story doesn't work with the LotR, its going to ruin story

I thought you were going to tell us the stuff that matters about the announcement, not the boring useless bits. A new iPhone is coming out with near the same size and resolution and weight as a Galaxy S3 from years ago. A watch is announced with nearly the same features as the Pebble from years ago. Woohoo?

If they fall for it, you simply know they're going to hire the most manipulative person they interviewed.

I really wanted to buy myself a good stereo stand for my equipment but it was in the $500 to $800 range for decent shelving. I bought a cheap $100 bookshelf instead and cut holes out of the back for cables and fans and it has worked great for years so far. Do I still wish I had the better version? Yes, but I can

Have you ever considered throwing in the "honourable mentions" that are statistically near the top 5? If the 5, 6, and 7th nominated tools have similar numbers and #8 is barely nominated, I'd be tempted to say "Honourable mentions to #6 ... and #7 ... "

Doom

Oh geez, the meta-rhetoric is thick with this one.
