I'm not sure if you're trolling (the name) or don't understand English very well, so here's a definition of debate for you: "a formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward." It was a debate the moment she put forward ideas. That's

Why should their response give solutions? Its not Gunneh's problem to solve, its that of the original author's. Either Sarkeesian wants a rational debate or she doesn't. And according to Gunneh, she's not going to get one because she's presented the debate as a witch-hunt.

Its not hard to test; someone could easily re-write her ideas as a man and see how they're received.

The essay is admirable for how handily it counters the extreme rhetoric and violent behavior that Sarkeesian's detractors use to decry her work. But, perhaps more importantly, this is a touching, heartfelt cry for a more reasoned and mutually respectful debate about gender and sexism in the modern video game industry.

Cars is totally unwatchably stupid. I'd rather watch Ratatouille than Toy Story any day.

You could raise the number of muslim suicide bombers by an order of magnitude and it would still be a vocal minority. Something like 1/6th of the planet is muslim, so there'd be nothing left of us if they all wanted the rest of us dead.

I think its sad that anyone thinks all art has responsibility. If you're an artist who wants to make a point, then do it. If you're an artist who wants to sell a lot of popular stuff, go for it. I hold nothing against either, unless they lie and claim something that's false is accurate.

I so thoroughly enjoyed Magna Carta, I really wish there were a modern sequel or even remake + sequel combo. I also loved the Shadow Hearts series but there's already a few of those, just none in HD.

Ironically I'm in the opposite boat — Facebook is for talking to people I don't live near any more, I can't be bothered actually browsing its lack of content.

play it on mute for a while

I'd love to personalize Metacritic so it only shows me scores from reviewers I tend to agree with.

Over the last few weeks I've been dabbling in Dragon's Dogma. This Japanese open world RPG is one of many games that sits in my PSN account thanks to PlayStation Plus, and in early July I got the impulse to start it up. What I found was a novel concept: an open world on rails, more or less. Dragon's Dogma allows you

The very little time I've spent playing DOTA2 has made me just go back to Dominions instead. Its more strategic, has a better mix of character types and is much more fun to actually play. Plus being turn based, you can play a dozen games at once.

Which makes sense, because that first pair will be available for re-use after the first washing.

None of us would even be on Kotaku if we wanted to spend all day watching Youtube videos.

Write out the list if you want my answer ... I'm not watching a video to get a list of words.

The problem is that a lot of sit-down restaurants these days use as much or more frozen product rapidly reheated as fast food joints are famous for, they just charge more. By contrast, a number of 'fast food' places use fresh meat and buns with fresh toppings ... so its hard to rank food by 'paid at the counter'.

I thought exactly the same thing; the Big Mac and McChicken are the only burgers I'll eat at a McDonald's and they're both quite tolerable.

there was a time I didn't believe blockbuster would go under either...
