The title of the article says “Amex Now Lets You Freeze Your Credit Card”. I was only pointing out the Green, Gold, and Platinum cards are technically charge cards and not credit cards.

AMEX does have credit cards, however the Green, Gold, and Platinum cards are charge cards. They incur an annual fee, and if you do not pay off your balance monthly you are charged a fee. With credit cards you can make a minimum payment and your balance has an interest rate.

It’s true, they do have credit cards (I’ve one of those cute clear ones), however they are mostly known for their green, gold, and silver charge cards. When someone talks about AMEX cards, they’re usually referring to one of those.

American Express is a charge card not a credit card. You’re expected to pay the balance in full every billing cycle.
