Saw one Tuesday in Boulder, CO doing testing. Handsome car.

Had a friend that got one as his first car, courtesy his parents, in 1985. The only thing that made it at all exciting was that it wasn’t the exactly the same as the Hondas and VWs all the other kids had. Then another friend got a Plymouth Laser Turbo that talked and the Mitsubishi lost the one edge it started with.

Serious beer drinkers in Colorado.

Buy the 107 mile car. It’s not a Pagani or anything rare, so take the savings and never notice the extra miles.

Assuming you’re right (and your logic is sound), it might seem the right solution would be to sell the Echo to fix the CVT. If the wife is unemployed and they’re already functioning (albeit barely) as a one car family, this could be a net positive.

Waze is, in fact, not yet available via CarPlay. It’s in beta and it’s good, but it’s not yet something most people will have seen or know for sure is happening.

Despite their early entry into the hybrid marketplace, Toyota is a profoundly conservative company.

I will second this. We had a Cooper S convertible (R52) and although we sold it because we’d have needed to chop off the kids’ legs as they got older, the front was ridiculous. I’m a relatively short 6'2", but I also have a swimmer’s body (Orca), with a 30" inseam. It had more headroom with the top up than either the

Do let us know. I met him once and wanted to give him all the money I had. Unfortunately, that wasn’t even a drop in the bucket of money that would’ve been required to get Saab (and, most importantly, Phoenix) back out its (then) death spiral.

I really like Victor Muller’s optimism, but I feel like this Spyker is never going to be built. More critically, Christian Von Koenigsegg is the anti-Victor Muller. It’s like Victor’s all about the bling and Christian’s all about the go. Victor cobbles together some cash to build a prototype, then hopes investors will

It’s also why most snorkels you see on vehicles that actually need snorkels (such as this military G-Wagen) have the inlets facing backwards. It’s not about the 0.04psi of ram air they might generate at 70 mph.

I will say this as the owner of a 2017 Titan Pro-4X, everything Stef said is accurate except about the price. For better or worse, I don’t think these things are selling as well as Nissan would like and they’re objectively not as good in a lot of ways as their competition from Ford/Chevy/Ram. That’s actually the good

So, if you’re going soup to nuts on a car like this, why not take the time to repaint the valve cover?

Axles are so old fashioned. Plus, there’s no actual reason for a modern electric car to have anything more than a short shaft to support a spindle, meaning that drive wheels would only detract from potential cabin width, which could keep them from meaningfully impacting cabin space.

You do know why Ford, of all the US manufacturers, didn’t need a bailout?

It’s certainly not GM’s first hot v engine. The stillborn 4.5l Duramax was a hot v as well. Only GM’s bankruptcy and the collapse of the global economy kept it from coming to market back in 2010.

Len invited me to the dinner. He and I were friends for years.

I think it’s not actual hatred for the Camry. It’s hatred for what it stands for in the automotive marketplace (vehicle as appliance) and, more so, a hatred for Camry drivers. Every horrible driving offense can be illustrated on a 100 mile drive, simply by observing Camry drivers.
