I actually find the folks who believe in the Singularity to be even more odd than religious zealots. I'm feel really "What the hell?" towards them. As you said, nothing is or ever will be perfect. I call baloney on this one. Yes, a bullet will have a lot of energy but not that much energy that it will stop moving forward and continue on spinning. Besides, how can you completely stop forward motion without slowing down or stopping the spin?
