I don’t disagree, but here’s an alternative Hot Taek: while they have been doing not the best job of it, DCEU is leaning hard on pitching their universe in media res. That’s how we got Suicide Squad in the first place, and Middle Aged Batman. Their entire conceit is to say that Superman getting exposed very publicly…

I agree that the Southern Gothic vibe would be incredible. But I think part of what made the Crow work for me was Draven wasn’t physically imposing. He was in great shape, but he’s not eight feet tall with biceps the size of basketballs and a glower that magically releases sphincters.

I’ve seen plenty of IRL and online advertising, all the way up the West Coast, going back to August. Maybe that part has more to do with your location and/or viewing preferences?

Honestly, with their new “and bathroom and also the garage sink” universe, they can pull just about anything they want to as regards introductions of characters. The way I understand the New Deal, anyhow. Sort of like they did over at DC with Power Girl being the Supergirl of Earth Whatfuckingever.
