And yet she's not drinking the proper martini.

Well, they weren't wrong. Flues were indeed one of the reasons for fatalities.

Ahh. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

I've read a fair number of Conan books in my time and IIRC...Conan isn't a Viking and didn't give two shits about Valhalla. I'm confused.

RE: Iron Man 3 — fine, let his origin be different. But if those rings aren't power rings, I'm going to be disappointed. It's fully established that Stark lives in a world where superpowers are a thing. They can give him a superpowered adversary (the superpowers are still in the form of accessories, for fuck's sake).

Late to the party, but: "two very real cataclysmic threats" ≠ "prophesied by the Mayan Calendar". That alone is serious 9_9 territory.

Superficial judging extends to the colors of cats' fur?

We just had an article yesterday about how intelligence tests were lousy indicators of actual intelligence. So, whoever was cited in that article — that guy said it.

If we don't have a decent way to define or chart intelligence in humans, how the heck do we expect to be able to figure it out for other species?

Give me a sketchy project and rearrange the numbers on the check and you will hear that from me.

It's actually more surprising that she says that it's a new idea to her. I thought it was blisteringly obvious.

You're not alone.

At the risk of sounding pompous for quoting myself, here are two little sayings of mine that seem relevant:

Hell, I like MEW, and I'd rather see Brie in this role than her.

That was my reaction, too.
