Know what would work? League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 1988. You guys know that, I got it from your April Fools post.

I think I don't understand; nearly everyone I know saw the movie this weekend. And I know a fair number of non-nerds. True, Expendables and that redhead's movie probably hit the broader moviegoer demographic, but... I dunno. I'm gonna see Expendables, too. I just wanted to see this one more.
Possibly some spoilers below:
+10 for awesome.
I know this is going to probably piss people off, but fuck Batman coming back to TV. Butt fuck it, in fact.
@tinyoakpictures: Played by the Old Spice guy!
@Palmer: This.
@Roklimber: I'm sorry, but I think it's pretty unlikely you can do a "superhero" show without being derivative in some way of comic book heroes. I mean shit, that's the genre!
Here's what I don't get (and maybe I just missed that article or whatever). But if there's no outside to the universe, then where is it expanding to?
@MinervaAlpaca: That sounds interesting - is this a recent book or an older one?
@Rawrnosaourous: Yep. One of the levels of clusterfuck as mentioned.
@TheGreatMachine: LMFAO.
@omgwtflolbbqbye: Poor Aunt May.
I'm gonna guess AIM/Hydra, perhaps with a little Loki thrown in because he's always fucking around. Just because in my mind, that's a pretty classic Avengers scenario (particularly with the heavy involvement of SHEILD).
@Skarl: Honestly, that's a problem with the franchise more than the film. It's always annoyed me; I've never heard of the Avengers actually avenging anything. (Mind you, I didn't really get on the bandwagon until their shit spilled all over the Marvel universe.)
@omgwtflolbbqbye: DUDE, YES. That is exactly what I thought.
Neil Gaiman will sometimes pull off the funny, too. The character's monologue in Anansi Boys about being too old for this shit had me in stitches. I guess his stuff isn't science fiction, but nor is Pratchett's, so there ya go.
I'd have to agree: It is very much a movie of its time, and it's likely true that it doesn't translate well to people who weren't in their late teens or adulthood in that time. But to we who actually wouldn't have minded wearing a zoot suit at the time (day-glo colors optional) and whatnot - I'm pretty sure the film…
I can practically hear that dude high-fiving himself. "You won't get to see what I saw [insert subtext of your choice - smarmy, creepy, or just plain horny]."
@HowIsYourFlat: Oh. So you wanted it to be the ending to LOST?
