Yep! One of my favorite things these days is when I admit to some music hipster that I unironically enjoy hair metal and yacht rock. It's immensely satisfying to watch the smirk on their face disappear when they expect me to be sheepishly embarrassed by this but then realize that I'm totally not. They don't even know

It's actually nice to see that Axl has matured into a guy who can show up on time and put on a good show without any tantrums.

If you're going to a concert and standing in the GA section you're gonna get a drink spilled on you at some point. This is just an occupational hazard. Anyone who acts surprised when this happens isn't much of a concergoer.

He usually plays background synth notes while the other guy plays piano.

Dual keyboardists is actually pretty common in live setups for rock bands. Allows for way more versatile arrangements. One guy can layer background synth notes while the other plays piano, you can add in a synth horn section, etc. This is also helpful for playing live versions of studio songs with string sections

It's a good album, just don't think of it as "Guns N Roses" because it isn't. It actually reminded me a lot more of NIN, musically.

It's actually a very good rock album. The problem is that it was released as "Guns N Roses" so everyone was expecting a Guns N Roses album. It isn't. It's essentially an Axl side project with entirely new musicians, a different sound, totally different production style and really should have been released under a

I assumed Becca was another writer here.

Eh. Axl, like his audience, isn't in his mid-20s anymore. People are older now and don't have time for bands that show up 2 hours late or singers that throw temper tantrums and start riots. I think it's actually refreshing that he's matured and lost that level of crazy so that everybody can just enjoy the music.

Ok, that guy is just insane.

Getting beer spilled on you does suck, but it's an expected hazard of going to a show. It's loud, dark, crowded, and people are holding beers. Shit's gonna get spilled and you just need to deal with it.

The entire Indie Rock fan philosophy seems to be the reflexive non-enjoyment of music. Liking anything too much is practically suspicious. You have to appear disinterested at all times or you're not cool.

They buried old grudges to reunite after 20 years and put on a highly-desired tour to play classic songs that they enjoy performing and their fans want to hear. The shows all sold out, the reviews have been very good, the crowds seem happy and the band appears to be having fun. I'm struggling to find a negative here.

Seriously. Alex has a completely backwards understanding of what musical relevance is.

The reviewer complains about the people chugging beer, throwing metal horns and singing with their favorite songs, but gives his nod of approval to the couple who "couldn't stop taking selfies" the entire concert and appear to know nothing about the band beyond its name. Alex is practically a Millenial caricature.

This was probably Alex McCown's first experience at a music venue that didn't have couches.

The guy with the blog is clearly way cooler than the band that sold out two dozen stadiums in like an hour.

"I enjoyed the show but I don't want to seem like a dork so I'm going to pretend I only liked it ironically and shit all over everyone else at the show who liked it UNironically."

Seriously. You mean there are people alive today who want to see live music but DON'T enjoy shitty British faux-folk bands or dubstep? The horror!

Estranged is the shittier, more pretentious version of November Rain.
