Doesn’t seem any more or less tasteful than your seminal Call of Duty game. Hopefully it’s fun.

Why is it that the only place I ever hear about the view is on these sites?

I think a lot of the ire specifically with Iraq is that it was an illegal war. I also think most WWII games don’t cover war crime activities. I’m sure unethical things happened, say, on D-Day, but a game covering D-Day isn’t gonna ask you to avoid shooting civilians because it’s mostly on an explicit battlefield. I

So if everything else remains equal and the only change is Iraq instigated the war by bombing a US army base, then it’s comparable? Good intentions or outcomes don’t excuse the ends justifying the means. You can weigh the importance of stopping fascism to the severity of war crimes. But at then of the day, a war crime

I like this website, I read all the stuff on here and respond to silly comments regularly. Enjoy commenting in general. Been reading since probably 2012, but sure I’m the troll mr. no profile pic.

Problem is that’s not how they’re selling it. They are legitimately calling out other military shooters while simulatenously declaring their game as an authentic “documentary” about a real-life event.

You’re setting up expectations by doing that.

Here’s the thing, if I was Russian or Chinese or North Korean, I would fully expect that.

I learned a long time ago that people are all a bunch of stupid bastards, and that’s why I am still single.

Consumer products are only as strong as their brand recognition. This is not the first time Kotaku has ran a blog about this game. Hell, I’m on /r/games all the time and would not know about this product if it wasn’t for Kotaku.

So, yes, giving this game publicity when trying to counter sales is silly. But that’s not

Exactly, This War of Mine is directly inspired by the siege of Sarajevo, though as I pointed out in another post, people who were there criticize it for over-emphasizing the violence and looting and underplaying how much communities came together to help one another.

To be fair, it’s not all toxic masculinity.

I am making huge oversimplification of the issue, but reading this reminds me of something I remember from an old video game documentary. The first generation of video games was mostly based on violence because, and I am paraphrasing one of the designers, it’s easier to make a game about shooting aliens than a game

Eww I don’t want to slap them, that would mean having to touch them.

You know what’s really not manly? Being so concerned about how manly you look that you endanger yourself and others.

For once then, we’re in agreement: I am also willing for them to risk dying of covid.

“getting the vaccine would show that they’re weak and afraid.” Aren’t they aware that everyone already knows that they are weak and afraid because they need to carry guns with them everywhere? Beta-cuck says “what”?

It makes total sense.

Sometimes I wonder if I am too hard on people and that is why I am still single.

Upside: With supplies still limited, I get my jab sooner. Downside: a completely avoidable long tail to the pandemic.

Can I just confession I keep mentally mixing his face up with Topher Grace & then have to remind myself that Eric Foreman isn't a total monster, it's his Verizon mouthpiece doppelganger
