@xsbs: I, too, wish they would write more original material. However, when they paraphrase/lift material from other sites, they also cite their sources (e.g. [LiveJournal, Image credit: Gode Cookery, thanks Guru!]). That makes quite a bit of difference.

@DarthSnuggles: The speed makes sense. I hadn't thought much about that, but I suppose that going through USB may slow things down. The fact that cheap dongles may not work well is also a good point...i have bought my fair share of card readers that have failed (sometimes intermittently) so I understand your

@DarthSnuggles: I'm not planning on buying one, as I have much better things to do with my money. However, I find it surprising that an ethernet port is the deal breaker for you. I use a wired connection at my desk everyday, but if you are docking it anyway, why not buy a USB adapter? You can get them for $10-20

@KamWrex: Established UC professional and extension schools are self-sustaining. The tuition and educational costs are shouldered by the students, and supplemented with things like overhead from federal grant money (as are private institutions).

@thinkthis: Estimates for new nuclear plants are much lower than 14 cents, but still higher than 2.2 cents a kilowatt-hour. Of course, many estimates of nuclear (and solar) power cost/kilowatt-hour fail to include environmental, security, and indirect economic costs.

@Kaostick: I also found that I use it in many more situations than I did my old phone (music, movies, map, email while walking...). Because of that, I tend to drop it more (once out of my pocket at 20mph). Screen is scratched, switch broke off, case has some cracks, but the phone (mostly) works.

@Emulsifide: Photosynthesis is the conversion of carbon dioxide into sugars. This process is fueled by light energy that is converted to chemical energy by the plant. I didn't read anything else on his cells, so I'm not sure what specific aspects of that process inspired him.
