This is a bit misleading. The Arc uses dedicated upfiring speakers to bounce sound of the ceiling while the Beam only uses software. They are both “simulating” but it’s definitely not the same.

It would have been easy to implement eARC on one of those 2.0 ports so you don’t lose it for a soundbar/reciever.

You definitely can get better pure speakers for the money, no doubt. But I like Sonos because their products are really easy, at least in my experience.

As another user pointed out the One SL doesn’t have any, neither does the new Five, and all the ones that do come with them disabled by default.

The pitch may be “a smart TV is that they come with built-in apps that let you stream content natively” but the reality is that it’s there to harvest data and serve ads. Having these platforms reduces the purchase cost of the tv for us because the money is being made up alternate revenue.

MoS was fine if not fantastic but BvS was terrible. I cannot understand why people would look at those first two entries and assume Snyder’s version of JL is worth fighting for.

I am guessing (s)he likes having access to hardware that he doesn’t have to buy or build up front. Actually owning the computer that Shadow has costs,say, $1000. He could use it for 2.5 years before it costs him more than that (ignoring any upgrades Shadow does to the service).

At least for me, they were extremely uncomfortable after wearing them for 15 minutes. I love the idea behind them, but they really don’t fit everyone well and you look like a dork when you wear them.
