Construction is a sticky one too because there are a lot of homeowners out there getting work done who don’t have experience with construction (hence the whole hiring a contractor). Just because something isn’t done the way you expected it to be done doesn’t mean the contractor did it wrong.

I rarely read 1 star reviews (or 5 star reviews either), The truth is usually in there with the 2 and 3 star reviews.

I’ve seen lives destroyed by contractors that do a shitty job.

Agreed, but there’s a difference between a one star review for “My drink took 10 minutes” and one star review for “I’m out $1000 and this contractor did a shit job I have to pay even more money to fix.” One is overkill, the other is probably not.

What if they’re a devilish hell-spawn narcissist sociopath sent by God to test you everyday?

I can get along much better with respectful hippies, druggies, or gay people

Thank you. While I do think it’s important to discuss misogyny and inequality in the entertainment industry, Jennifer Lawrence and her experience is absolutely no comparison to every female in my actual life. I’m so glad this is being discussed. I have worked in recruiting and HR in the past. Women fighting for extra

The whole “fight harder” thing is really inappropriate. They have people to do it for them. And when I am fighting, face-to-face with an employer, to be the person they pick for an office job it certainly does not benefit me to “fight harder.” Be it for an extra dollar an hour or healthcare (non-existent from my very

“No art allowed, people! Only direct action and transparently pragmatic movements allowed! This is SERIOUS BUSINESS!!”

I was going to write this exact same thing. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!

My problem with things like this is always the questions: “Who is the target of your message here?”

Cole and I were both born in Newport Beach. We both attended UCLA. We both cheer on the Penguins. He’s pitching in the majors, I’m typing this shitty comment on Deadspin at 8:30am on a Thursday. I feel like Danny DeVito to Schwarzenegger’s character in that movie Twins.

I don’t think gakking a one-game wild card to the pitcher in the middle of the greatest run since Bob Gibson qualifies as “choking,” but you’re right about the Caps

For what the Buccos are paying him that usher should let him do whatever the hell he wants at a Pens game.

I hate the show for exactly that reason. People who are going about their lives don’t need to be morally tested for entertainment purposes. Imagine having your unexpected moral crisis filmed and put on television. It sucks. I have anxiety that I’ll be on that show.

This where I am confused - doesn’t this happen to people who have not asked or have no desire to be on a show? The bystanders aren’t making a choice. If I was out at dinner with my friends or family and it turned out to be taping for a tv show that we were not privy to, I would be extremely upset. There are so many
