This is awesome. Thanks

Fifty years ago, everyone's Mom was home cooking dinner. Now everyone works, because no families can live on one salary any more. There's your difference. The restaurant industry has parlayed that into a billion-dollar bonanza.

Hey I used to be an idealist, I grew up in the 60's. Bernie Sanders is such a nice guy, and you know, he reminds me of Eugene McCarthy. ‘memba him? He was a nice guy too but he ran on a 3rd party ticket in 1968 and Nixon ended up winning the Presidency. Not much good came out of that, did it? McCarthy had no chance to

Somewhere recently I read that Zika may be transmitted sexually, and they’ve found concentrations of the Zika virus in semen. So an otherwise healthy woman could conceivably be infected by having sex with a man who carries the virus, and also get pregnant by the same man. I think this possibility needs to be exploited

You can get by on "summer" tires if you have front wheel drive, and the engine is in the front like most cars. Snow tires are not a necessity for getting around in snow, but front-wheel drive (or 4WD) definitely is. Secondly you drive differently on snow - starting, stopping, taking a curve, everything is different.

You call this snow? You call this a snowstorm? Pfftt! That's not even an inch there. Talk to me when it's up over the hubcaps.

You can’t get Hep B from tainted food, so I don’t think that was it. I’m pretty sure they had fresh veggie suppliers that weren’t following all the FDA approved procedures. Some of the veggies (green onions I recall) were coming in from Mexico. Maybe lettuce and tomatoes too.

Wasn’t that the ChiChi’s fiasco? It happened about 15 years ago and ChiChi’s went out of business. They lost so many customers everywhere even though the e.coli outbreak happened in just 3 or 4 places. So you’d think Chipotle would learn from ChiChi’s mistake and take this a little more seriously.

They assume you’re binge-watching and you want to watch the next episode in order. That’s actually a good feature IF that’s what you’re doing. Maybe they could ask first, and not assume. Personally I prefer watching Netflix on my TV and Amazon Prime on my computer screen.

Twenty years from now, that's exactly what will happen. People will read on the internet what that guy Trump said back in 2015, and everybody gets a chuckle. But this fake transcript with Clinton and Blair, I feel bad for Tony Blair. He doesn't get any of the funny lines, he's just the setup guy for Clinton. Not fair!

:-)

I thought this one would have made your list - Robert Downey Jr. wearing blackface in Tropic Thunder. 'Memba that?

Here’s a question for the regular commenters: what qualifies somebody to be appointed (or hired) the CEO of a major pharmaceutical company? This guy has no graduate degrees and apparently no formal training in science so how does he become the head guy of a science and research-based firm? I mean other than buying

If America follows your recommendation I would immediately be out of work, and so would just about everyone I know. Almost nobody outside of NYC lives and works in the same general location. I can't walk or bike to my job and there's no method of commuting other than by car. Is America prepared to pay unemployment

I came on here to see if anybody mentioned "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World." As a kid I laughed my ass off at that movie, funniest thing I'd ever seen. But you know I saw it again last year, and it wasn't nearly as funny. I guess the movie hasn't aged so well, and my tastes have changed in the last 50 years.

“whey" - like curds and whey?

It has to do with freshness and shelf-life. Fresh meat has to be sold immediately because it only has about 3 days of shelf-life. Processed meats can sit in the store for weeks or months until somebody comes along and buys it. Lot less waste but the preservatives (nitrites) in processed meats give us cancer. Whoopsie!

This is the 3rd “meat gives us cancer” article I’ve read today and I keep looking for the word nitrites. It hasn’t been mentioned once. Nitrites are what we need to avoid, because nitrites give us cancer. So, what’s loaded with nitrites? Bacon, bologna, hotdogs, sausages, just about any “processed” meat because

I never thought I would come on Gawker and compliment John Boehner, but here it is: While Boehner was Speaker of the House he never would have allowed this shit to proceed. I’m totally in awe of Hillary and how she handled these assholes. It’s just another feather in her cap as far as I’m concerned. I wish it were

Thrift store shoppers (like me) already know the mantra. You have to look at everything carefully and you have to be flexible about colors and styles. So often I’ve found a gorgeous sweater that retails for $70-80 (Goodwill price $3.99) and it’s on the rack of small sizes but it’s a large or extra-large. Well the
