Yeah I came on here to say the same thing. Grew up in St. Louis in the 50's and the 60's and it was definitely called Dago Hill then. But that was an informal colloquial name, you'd never see it printed in the paper or on a street sign. People just called it that. I remember Gooey Butter Cake and yes it was a

I grew up in St. Louis and I can vouch for this. Everyone I knew in the 1950's and 60's had a barbecue and used it frequently. In fact I think we even had barbecue pizza but I'm not 100% on that. ;-)

You may have invented America, but you can't take credit for the ice cream cone. THAT goes to St. Louis!

My guess is that the "don't read white men for one year" directive would be better aimed at the publishers rather than the readers (consumers). The shortage of books by non-white non-males is caused by the publishing industry. However in any case I' d never discourage anyone from reading ANYTHING any more. So few

Try a burrito bowl with 1/2 chicken and 1/2 sofritas. It's actually pretty good because you can mix it all up and eat it together like a casserole or something. Usually I can stretch 1 burrito bowl into 2 meals - lunch and dinner, or maybe lunch today/lunch tomorrow.

That's what happens when people try to type on their phones.

And brown!

+1 for your girlfriend. :-)

I'm not lactose intolerant, but I don't drink milk because I hate the taste of milk. Here's an important thing I learned in college: I don't need to add milk or cream in my coffee. If the coffee is good, it doesn't need an additive. If it's not good, then no amount of cream or milk can help it any. Just learn how to

If the phone is black and not shiny then it wouldn't be so noticeable. But yeah, if it's pointing right at me, I'd see it for sure.

The refs and umpires all handled the ball (presumably) between plays. So do they get fined too? They had to have known the balls weren't properly inflated, but nobody blew a whistle or replaced a bad ball. I just don't get it. Maybe the refs were all in on the cheating too. There's a scary thought!

This man has no fans in Pittsburgh. Believe me, I know!

Not to mention - most public libraries have downloadable ebooks and audiobooks too. You can borrow them for the time specified, usually 2 or 3 weeks. You can convert them to another format and keep them longer. Many times I've borrowed library audiobooks on disk, ripped them and converted to MP3, and then returned the

If you read the books, then you probably remember that Dumbledore and Snape had many private conversations in which Dumbledore told Snape that he had to do it this way. Dumbledore knew he was dying anyway. Snape did not want to kill Dumbledore but he pretty much had to. Otherwise it would have been Draco Malfoy's job

Good call! I expected to see Fight Club on the original list. Definitely shocking and great use of flashbacks in telling that story.

No way am I buying that Snape is 31 in the first movie.

Well I think that's the whole point. The Islamic fighters or ISIS would never have a reason to celebrate Christmas. Our guys might, if they were fighting other guys who shared our culture, religion, sentimentality and history, but obviously the ISIS fighters don't fit that description.

I love-love-love audiobooks! My commute is one-hour a day and all I listen to in the car is audiobooks. I never have time to read (it seems) so audiobooks are my way to keeping up with all sorts of fiction and non-fiction. I've found audiobooks enjoyable for another reason, the enjoyment I get from the performance of

"I think of all the stupid rumors about Catherine the Great fucking a horse."

Ohcomethefuckon - thanks for this post! I didn't know that about Target but I'm definitely interested. I've been trying to get a chip and pin card for several years and can't get it from any of our local banks. I hear that Citibank offers a chip card, not chip-and-pin card, but anyway Citibank isn't near me and
