I didn’t react to the velvet scene quite the same way you did. While yes it did show what could have been a ridiculously overpowered weapon it clearly lacks the strength of the weapons it’s copying. Velvet succeeds in killing one mech with access to all those weapons which is cool but immediately afterwords Weiss cuts…
