The book remains one of my favorites: It was the first “big” book I ever read (in the Summer between 2nd and 3rd grade, back in the mid 1970s). I highly recommend it. The movie makes everything happen faster due to its nature, and compression can’t be avoided, but it’s not a bad adaptation. I think I’ll show the kids…
