Yes! I always appreciate a sympathetic 'I'm sorry' from someone. Not to mention, forcing someone to stop saying I'm sorry, is as bad as socially requiring them to say it. The end result is still controlling the person to say or do whatever you think is best instead of letting them decide how they would like to
