that's very true. season 1 has it's moments, they're not bad but nothing too special. but man once you get into season 2 the whole show locks in place and picks up speed and pretty soon the 6th season is over in the blink of an eye and you're stuck waiting interminably for new episodes like the rest of us schmucks…

I totally understand the criticisms lobbed at Abe Sapien, but I have to say that I have enjoyed it quite a bit and am even sad that it's gonna be over next month. Abe's moping and the slow pacing of HIS actual story are sore spots in the narrative and probably could have been much better handled as a back up in BPRD

Dark Horse's Conan has been one of my favorites and along with Hellboy, Sandman, and Fables it was instrumental in making me a comics reader for life starting at age 29. Every few years DH gets new writers and changes the title but it's all one continuous story. Start At the beginning of Dark Horse's acquisition of

so many people seem to forget that entertainments' basic function is to ENTERTAIN. Some movies make you think, or cry, or get angry, this one just makes you laugh if you like this kind of humor. I saw it for the first time last year and thought it was great and I still don't understand why so many people abhor it.

Frank Grimes. R.I.P. Grimey

Saw them right after Leviathan came out, they opened up for Clutch (who were touring Blast Tyrant) I'd heard so much good stuff about Mastodon being one of the best live bands at the time…and it was a real disappointment when they came on and sounded like muddy shit. I left halfway through their set to smoke. Clutch

It was a sad realization on my part but I love VB so much that I don't care if this entire season is just a set up for an epic season 7 in 2019. Although I miss the fuck out of the Triad…

I took that as more of a riff on that particular scene from Star Wars and nothing that would have any bearing on the future. I laughed so hard at that because the set up of 24 as Obi wan in that scene was perfect

I've been steadily going through the previous seasons every week after a I watch a new episode and I'm pretty sure there's a quick one-off joke about The Moil who goes around cutting foreskins

SEX CAULDRON? i thought they closed that place down.

I didn't read many of the books past the Thrawn Trilogy, but I did read quite a few of the Dark Horse comics and while there was some obvious schlock throughout I thought Dark Horse did a fairly good job of fleshing out the EU and making it interesting and readable. Reading the entire Clone Wars run between watching

My sporadic ventures back into the late 90's pop punk/ska tastes of my 14-17 year old self are the same way, ALOT of stuff just doesn't hold up worth a damn. Less Than Jake's Losing Streak and Hello Rockview still kinda do it for me. And Nerfherder, I still totally love their first album.

Best quote: "Carnies built this country…the carnival part of it, anyway."

So while the A.V. Club itself is starting to decline as one of my favorite things to check out every few days or so (due to the incessant need of its' writers to throw in their political and cultural biases more and more lately, or maybe I'm just noticing it more lately…) the comments section of any A.V. Club article
