I agree with most of his points, being a fellow progressive and all, but really, I just find both him and his mother insufferable. I can't quite put my finger on why, but they seem a tad too "more bleeding-heart than thou."

Mentor stereotype, maybe? Wise master taking a young, bright-eyed student under his wing?

Dammit Selfie, I guess I like you now.

Maybe the Rev doesn't have an internet presence?

Holy elementary school flashback, Batman! Mrs. Plank totally reminded me of a couple of teachers I had when I was around Lily's age. I may have cried, they may have been strict and unrelenting, but dammit! Being able to do long division was completely worth it!

Am I Minka Kelly? I wish! She nabbed Derek Jeter *and* Chris Evans.

I doubt that. Amy's a Whedonverse regular.

Interesting. I just remember the fandom flipping out over the teeny, tiny arrow pendant Black Widow was wearing in Winter Soldier. "Arrow! Hawkeye uses them! So he gave her that! And that means they're totally doing it!"

My dream She Hulk was Amy Acker, cuz her Jennifer Walters would have been amazing and she can handle multiple personality characters (hello Fred and Illyria!), but they cast her as the freaking cellist. The freaking cellist. A one off character we're never going to see again. Ugh.

Love that Simmons ended her super sekrit transmission with "fish tacos." It reminded me, for some reason, of The Simpsons' "purple monkey dishwasher" moment.

So…why the heck did Bob leave the church to go weep in the woods? Did he get bit?

You mean Fet from The Strain? I don't think Carlton Cuse and Guillermo del Toro are quite done with Durand yet.

Karen G has *always* been skinny. You must be confusing her with *Rose* (aka Billy Piper) who, in true Chavette fashion, packed too much booty in the pants.

He quit that job and is now working at the non profit/public interest law firm one of his classmates from law school started. There was an episode where he thought she was some kind of ogre everyone else was afraid of because circumstances, but it turns out that she's really just sweet as pie.

Have you not seen the ep where Alex is playing in a coffee shop with a band, and then she blows Claire and Haley off to go hang out with her bandmates after their gig?

Hey now…in Claire and the kids' defense, it's natural for even the closest families to need some time apart. And I've been there: spending even *one* night in a cramped hotel room with a bunch of people gets tired reeeeeeaaaally fast.

Was…was the whole gag with the Nigerians some kind of half-assed dig at Black-ish?

It's from Eastern Promises. Great film. Highly recommend. Although, somewhat hard to watch. David Cronenberg helmed it, nuff said.

So I'm usually Shrill Feminist Commentator (TM) around these parts (oh Outlander book fans, how I miss you), and I totally understand your point.
