I gotta admit I like it too. But I’ve also revisited these when the alcantara starts aging and breaking down. I would almost certainly have to have it recovered, because you couldn’t pay me enough money to handle a sweat and oil drenched matted-carpet shifter every time I need to switch gears.

I actually really like alcantara on headliners, but only if the fibers are uniformly brushed in a sane manner. Random spiderveining of headliner fibers give it a real look of “hey, someone had a party or something back here.” No thanks.

Also: if it’s not expertly and often cared for, it gets matted down and gross. I don’t think I’ve seen a detailer (like Larry Kosilla, etc.) successfully restore alcantara to its original state, but I’m more than willing to be wrong here.
