It’s not any one thing, it’s years and years of stories of sexual harassment and abuse.
Is there no one left in entertainment that isn’t a ginormo-gantuan piece of shit?
I like that you say "the last thing AS would wants is to air a show starring someone who sounds like Roiland" when they literally say that is what is happening in the post. Not to mention the fact that VAs get recast for various reasons with sound alike actors all the time.
Kinda’ wild to me that this part of the story has gone mostly unreported.
I’m really sorry to read this Nathan. I remember your work here from your Kotaku days. What you’re describing sounds terribly familiar to anyone with even a cursory knowledge of what’s gone at Vox, GMG, et al. Hopeful to see your stuff at a pub that knows what to do with good work. I’d love to support a Defector-like…
Yes, but the problem is that the actual cause of inflation isn’t natural, it’s the result of companies just deciding to raise the costs of everything in order to increase profits (and that’s ignoring the mass layoffs recently). People are mad at the Federal Reserve because they’re not treating the cause, but the…
hi! former kotaku and (until a few hours ago) current launcher reporter here, and I just wanted to say this is pretty much exactly correct. leadership never gave us the resources we needed, and promotion of even our biggest/best stories was sporadic at best. loved having the time and space to report out good stuff,…
It seems like journalists couldn’t stop singing this show’s praises after the first episode and now everyone is grasping at straws trying to find flaws to write about. This can be a good adaptation and not have every aspect of the game. And really it shouldn’t. Let’s be honest, if it was incredibly accurate to the…
Counter: what if you’re leading a team of five people and everyone is amazing. This policy forces you to pick one of them as the “worst”, and suddenly that person’s financial and employment situation takes a direct hit.
couldn’t we all name 5% of the people at our jobs that are doing a shitty job? If not more?
I regret to inform you that you’ve been ranked as one of the bottom 5% of devil’s advocates. Expect a demotion on your next report, and termination if you can’t start making less lazy arguments.
Uh, no. Maybe at some jobs I’ve had, but I work in an office now full of talented, dedicated people who bust their asses every day and consistently hit targets and generate verifiable growth. (Coincidentally, it is also a place which regularly prioritizes the financial, physical, and mental wellbeing of employees.)
Still hate it. Makes Palpatine the common thread of all nine episodes.
This! I enjoyed the story and the combat for the most part. It’s all the end game and other decisions that seemed so forced by continued revenue that killed it. It was a grind just to get decent costumes and complete skills trees for some of the characters which was wild to me.
Molly Kearney’s been solid since the start.
I’m sure I'll get a lot of crap for this but that's kinda how I felt about Hickman's time on Avengers. I mean, obviously it built to something of consequence, but so much of it felt like filler. Admittedly that might be my fault for how I read it - binge reading both of his Avengers books via Marvel Unlimited several…
“Like Bros, but for gays.” is such a massive burn.
Blatent dog whistle bro
“They felt like very short sketches this week, which was good and bad.”
